According to Movistar's twitter, Firsanov was in the break which started the last climb 1min ahead. He and Landa attacked at the foot of the last climb. Quintana and Di Gregorio attacked from the peloton with around 4km left, by which time Firsanov had already dropped Landa. I think the time gaps they were giving must have been wrong though.

Correction: Firsanov was not in the original break, he attacked on the last descent and caught them before the final climb.

that sounds a lot more plausible. firsanov could never ride away from quintana.

it makes more sense.still to drop landa like that, firsanov might have the new JTL-gabrovski hype here on the forums.

Well he rode the final climb around 1 minute faster than Quintana.

Michael Rasmussen won Ringerike GP, ahead of two of Norway's greatest talents.

1. Michael Rasmussen (Christina Watches-Onfone)
2. Kristoffer Skjerping (Joker Merida)
3. Sondre Holst Enger (Plussbank BMC)

To be fair, last year, he had been similar other than a couple of good results in Mallorca. In 2011 he DNFed every stage race but one (País Vasco, where he was an irrelevance) until June (he finished the Tour de Slovénie), and didn't add anything to his CQ tally except the 5 for finishing País Vasco between February and the Prueba Villafranca de Ordizia, a week from the end of July.

So he could be OK, but he could just as easily be going at 2010-vintage levels of unmotivated, unhappy struggling.

That's a fair point, but he is supposed to be getting into shape for the beginning of July rather than the end of August this year, so you would hope that he would be starting to show signs of improvement.

our cobo was in an reconaissance in the france's alpes with ruben plaza, alejandro valverde and...christophe moreau!
i'm pretty sure he will peak like an angel in july and i hope he will be the real leader on the team.

he also sucked in 2008 prior to the tour if I remember well. still I expect nothing from him. under unzue he always rides very badly.
