Vermaerke and Blackmore (if he brings his spring form) could be up there too. But I agree that Schmid is the favourite. He's just the right level to farm these races. He's doing what Hirschi is doing, with the difference being that with Schmid it doesn't feel like he's stealing candy from children.Looking at the start list for Norway, I have Schmid as the favorite. He was very strong in Slovakia and he has been at altitude.
Uno X.Anyone watching Artic Race? Who is working at the pelotón?
Burgos - Did not have Bittner down on my bingo card, but chapeau! Caleb Ewan 9th? Oh man ... Nizzolo having a good spell at the moment.
Looking at how poorly he performed with a monster train at the giro I can understand the team...It was a disaster for Ewan. Had none of Jayco's lead out riders in Stewart, Walscheid or Mezgec at the race. The team with Englehardt, Quick and Scotson should have been able to get him into position, but in the last 10kms the team was nowhere. he could have finished 4th or 5th, hovever he sat up in the last 30 metres. Bigger worry is that Ewan is riding the Vuelta with so few sprint stages.

Its kinda shite, all they needed to was include the Picon Blanco stage instead of stage 5 and they are golden. But maybe they decided against it due to San Sebastian being one day later so attract more riders also riding in the Basque Country. But nothing wrong with once in a while also catering to strong TT'ers, especially because its only been climbing lately in the race. But a bit boring not to have Picon Blanco, and also weird because the climb actually features in this year's Vuelta.Wtf is Burgos route
Seems like a "me too!" inclusion of a gravel section in Norway.
