That was a special edition to commemorate the return of the race, hence why top top riders like Domenico Pozzovivo and Paul Double turned up.

A few of those wins are asterisked under the farmers clause. This race supposed to be a nice week for Italian conti riders and u23 teams, but of course the real Madrid cycling establishment have to show up and act like gods gift to cycling when they win everything
