I find it amusing that some teams in that front group think they have a better chance against Philipsen then against De LIe or Brennan in a smaller group where you could at least attack from. Like Astana, your best shot is cracking the peloton and then attack.

I think they'll stay away.

I don't think the guys riding now are gonna close that gap, key is with Cofidis and Total. Total probably has a bigger chance at a good result with Jeannière than with Delettre. Cofidis is also in peloton with 3.

UCI pojnts might decide. For example Total needs to win on Cofidis, do they have a better chance with Delettre vs. 0 Cofidis guys in front group or with JEanniere (and maybe more than 1 sprinting) vs. Coquard. And then there's also UNO X who I think don't have a fast guy left so do they even want this to come back when Cofidis could score more in a sprint?

EDIT: Gap is getting really small tho. They are gonna come back I think

Both De Lie and Brennan are also among the strongest here, and they should be happy to decide it in a sprint.

De Lie was struggling a bit on the Smeys after his dumb attack on Moskes, but he should've had time to recover by now. I just don't know if Van Aert and Berckmoes can control till the end. There's plenty of firepower in that group that has been saving energy.

I think they can afford to save something for the last 3 km, as the peloton is no threat. But they also have to make everyone hesitate before opening the finale.
