He's the only rider to drop Pogacar on a climb this season... he got dropped on basically every other hill, but still.Van Aert getting dropped on the last hill of his season feels fitting.
I think they'll stay away.
Yes, and Astana disrupting right behind him. G1's race to lose now.Ok is that Philipsen himself riding? Then it's over probably
Not even a real hill for these pro’s.
I think Van Aert has enough in the tank to glue the group together.
It is definitely worth considering going for the finisseur move themselves for both, like Kristoff in Scheldeprijs a few years back.I doubt Brennan or De Lie is winning this. They already have to react to everything. Meeus laughing at the back but if I have to guess a solo or a small group will go clear at some point.
Both De Lie and Brennan are also among the strongest here, and they should be happy to decide it in a sprint. He can't control everything tho and Berckmoes looks dead for De Lie. These attacks won't stop.
EDIT: ah Berckmoes is coming now.
Both De Lie and Brennan are also among the strongest here, and they should be happy to decide it in a sprint.
I think they can afford to save something for the last 3 km, as the peloton is no threat. But they also have to make everyone hesitate before opening the finale.De Lie was struggling a bit on the Smeys after his dumb attack on Moskes, but he should've had time to recover by now. I just don't know if Van Aert and Berckmoes can control till the end. There's plenty of firepower in that group that has been saving energy.
Tudor also look like they're biding their time. Can't wait forever, though.I expect a big one from Vacek at some point
