I mention this because he's not even at a remotely normal level. In Catalunya, he finished all stages minutes behind the peloton, and here, with the low level of competition, has been dropped very far.

With such a weak peloton, anyone could win every stage. Burgos controlled the race today, but it wasn't enough.

UAE doesn't have a team; Movistar seems to have the strongest team in this race, but they depend on Nairo to help Pescador.

AVC with 2 men in the break make it work for the win - chapeau Layrac. (Another French 19 year old!)

He did actually get a fine lead out from the others, but he didn't have enough left in the end.
Instead a 19 year old Frenchman won. Can't remember when I last saw that happen.

Looks like Fernandez was by far the strongest in that break but cooked himself attacking and going solo. In the end the two teenagers on the French pub team used their numbers well, well done boys.

Hopefully Fernandez gets another chance.
