Final GC Ronde l'Oise (2.2):

1. Vegard Breen (NOR)
2. Vincent Jerome (FRA) +12

Impressive ride by Vegard Breen, was in pretty much every breakaway in the race and held off the bunch two days in a row. Big talent, will almost certainly become a pro next year.

Ya, his forth of the season. At this rate he will definitively step up next year, at least to pro conti i think.

I also just read the resume of the stage posted by leopard on facebook and it looks like it was a proper one day race like win.

Fabio Silvestre has won the fourth and final stage at the Ronde de l'Oise (UCI 2.2). After an agitated race through rain and win, the 23 years old Portuguese rider won the sprint of a group of six riders that broke away with 90 km to go.

After a very agitated race through rain and win, the 23 years old Portuguese rider won the sprint of a group of six riders that broke away with 90 km to go.

Silvestre: "I feel very happy and proud with this win. Riding a final with such a small group is always tricky and you should never put all your cards on the table. It came down to a sprint and I'm very happy to have won it. The day started off with a puncture which made me lose the first break of the days, and possibly the whole race, but it ended with a win."

An early break of twenty riders broke clear early on in the stage. Team Manager Adriano Baffi: "We didn't have anybody in it. The level at this race is high, maybe a notch too high for us. Two days ago we didn't have anybody in the break either and we brought it back with so much effort that we weren't able to ride the final anymore. Today, we played poker a bit. Europcar didn't have anyone in the break either and they took control."

When the race passed through a crosswind section, Europcar started making echelon, tearing the field apart. The front group, with Silvestre and Piero Baffi in it, managed to bridge to the break and a group of about 40 riders was at the front of the race.

Baffi: "In a group of 40 riders it's hard to find someone that wants to ride hard and so it was today. Luckily Fabio anticipated and attacked on a climb."

Silvestre's attack split up the group and he found himself with 8 other riders and 90 kilometers to go. "We worked well together and stayed away. In the final we lost three riders, so we sprinted for the win with six. I'm super happy."

Oliver Hofstetter won the sprint of the chase group, taking seventh place in the stage. Silvestre also takes home the mountain jersey for his ride today.

Silvestre will now travel home in Portugal to prepare for the National Time Trial Championships.

1st stage of the Tour de Serbie (I know it was yesterday, but I only got to read about it today) was shortened after there were a lot of crashes and heavy rain, so instead of 5 laps around Nis, they only did 2. So in the end they only raced around 55 km.

Today was a harder stage "mountain"-wise, but no breakaway was allowed until the second climb of the stage (which also marked the highest point of the whole race at a whopping 720m), where a big group of 25 rider broke away. That group made it all the way to the finish, and Richeze was the fastest ahead of Russian Nikolaev. Our main guy Zsolt Dér also made the podium taking 2 ET points and Péter Kusztor managed to get in the group as well so everyone's pretty happy right now on the Hungarian side :)

Don't know if any of you guys are interested in the Hungarian-related races since these usually consist of very weak fields, but if anybod's curious about these literally "lesser known races", I can post updates about them.

@opqscyclingteam: Frist group has 35 seconds on a 2nd group. Looks like the wind will play a main role today.. #ZLMtoer
