I wondered why Voeckler DNS in stage 1 of Limousin and then I saw he was also taken off of the startlist of the Vuelta.

https://twitter.com/voecklerthomas

My French isn't very good, but I think he crashed just befor the 1st stage of Limousin and fractured his collarbone for the 4th time, 2nd time this year. Although it's his left this time; the other 3 times it was his right. He will have surgery on thursday. :(:(

In the mean time, there's racing in the Baltic countries.

I'll be honest, the only reason I care about the Baltic chain tour is Van Der Poel, who just got second in the first stage, which was a pan flat stage, right behind the green jersey from the Tour of Qinghai Lake. :p

Solid jersey defense by Laukemans yesterday, but it will likely be harder today with the last hill.

Europcar to go berserk today methinks.

Report from stage 3 (scroll down a bit as always): http://france3-regions.francetvinfo...les-monts-de-gueret-23-de-1832-km-515879.html

Italy continues to take trophies back from France, but lets see if we get a response today:

af8d8372d4b97b8d253236705df49926.jpeg

Or maybe Fernandez will upset the apple cart before he joins Movistar.

KOM points:

Km 76,6 : Côte du Pierre Buffière (2,5 km à 4,48%) - MG 3
Km 96 : Côte de Veyrinas (1,9 km à 5,63%) - MG 3
Km 123,3 : Côte des Verneuil (1,8 km à 6,38%) - MG 3

But there are many more small climbs on what I think are small roads for the most part, so this can be raced all the way.

By far the strongest team on paper in the race. Again such races often benefits from small team sizes. Much harder to control and often allow a strong group of riders to break free closer to the finale etc. Better race action imo.
