What's obstacle #4 there? 1 is La Houppe, 2 is Kanarienberg, 3 is Kruisberg, 5 is Knokteberg, 6 is Hellestraat and 7 is Tiegemberg, but can't make out 4 as the shape of the route would seem to preclude Oude Kwaremont, Paterberg or Rampe.

Three Vantourenhout's/Vanournout's racing. Shame the two Svens for Crelan AA Drink aren't racing. It would be brilliant for the commentators as the names are pronounced the same way. Plus Sven, Micheal and Dieter are all related. Then Dieter, Micheal and Klaas are all on the same team.

Wow, what an anticlimactic finish. Bouhanni (who was invisible for the entire race) wins Halle Ingooigem after the peloton caught the break (with the likes of Wallays, Vanmarcke, Terpstra) in the final K.

Smaller teams now!!

Plebani! 9th and he is only 18! In a sport like this that is exciting, even in a race like Sibiu... *books him for next year's young rider comp*

GC up for grabs.

GC should be done, dont think Rebellin will make the gap up. The opening circuits arent that tough and it will be a decent size bunch come the finish.

The finish isnt actually flat, its a 200m uphill cobbled hill, so theres a slim chance someone could pick up some seconds, but cant see it.

The world's most bonkers race, the Tour of Qinghai Lake, started today. This is always a surreal experience, featuring a mix of teams from the World Tour to tiny Asian Continental teams, many who sign experienced eastern European or South American riders specifically for the event, especially South Americans due to experience at racing at altitude, and quite often sees a pretty bizarre field as a result. Because it's a long race - 13 days, the longest race at the .HC level and in fact the longest UCI-categorized professional race outside of the Grand Tours (races like the Vuelta a Colombia, which can be up to 15 stages, are at the .2 level so include amateurs) - inexperienced guys can be sent here to build recovery, especially given that much of the race happens at quite extreme altitude - up to 3500m. Because of this, and the varying quality of the field, there's often some very short stages. Last year was won by now-disgraced Astana Continental breakout Ilya Davidenok, while the year before it was won by Mirsamad Pourseyedi, literally a week after his ban for EPO in 2011 ended. Its history is not all dubious though!

The first stage was won by Marko Kump, in a field that illustrates the usual madness of Qinghai Lake.
