Lugano field is quite weak, isn't it?

For a 1.HC race, attracted very few strong names.

Spectacular parcours. Short, steep climbs, demanding descends and a great finish through the old town. Quite an interesting race.
And no race radios :D

And it's my home region, so I can't be more excited about the future of this race.

That 2 races weekend is quickly becoming a staple, and particularly with the demise of the Tour Med, it has become THE must race for quite a part of the Paris Nice peloton because the parcours is selective enough to get a proper training for the more selective stages of the "course du soleil".

The Classique Sud-Ard?che (saturday's race) has existed for 15 years but has gotten more traction in the last 5/6 years. With 2 days of racing, it gives more teams the motivation to come there.

Really nice route, we really lack those selective one day races in the french calendar, so it is a really nice addition and I hope it can thrive in the future.

+ in France it was the very first race of the year shown live on non-cable or satellite TV, so that was great. more cycling for free on TV !

Apparently the majority of CULT think Quaade is a favourite for the prologue, the exception being... Quaade himself. He's just been sick, and isn't really a prologue kind of guy, suppose they're too short for him to ride himself totally over the limit.

So in West-Vlaanderen a small group with Lampaert and Gougeard looking good for the GC attacked quite a bit out and somehow they've managed to maintain a '18 second gap into the last 4km now....

EDIT: 12 secs in the last 2km now....
