Sure they did. Fastest guy in the group is from Bora so they use the other guy as a leadout. Absolutely genius.

Quite happy that I tuned in with ~25 km to go, but I didn't see the big crash. Was it near the front of the peloton?

Yes perfect use of Konrad, who was completely cooked. They played this finish and it's route perfectly. Van Aert clearly didn't know the finsih good enough and got therefore surprised by the tactics.

I must have tuned in about the same time as you, but the commentators said it was about position 4.
