Now, here's something I personally find much more important than Jonas Vingegaard riding Cro Race.
According to PCS, Milan Vader is riding! You know, the guy who got seriously injured during Basque earlier this year.

Omloop van Het Houtland is on and the weather looks to be fantastic for racing. Haven't paid that much attention, but there's a five man break up ahead with two from Go Sport Roubaix & one each from Tarteletto Isorex, Sport Vlaanderen & Uno-X.
Alpecin, Lotto, Bora & Jumbo pulling. 68km to go.

Didn't have commentary last year either. It's being filmed for some highlights on tv but they do offer a livestream.

Philipsen beats De Lie and Groenewegen. De Lie went a bit too early (scared of getting boxed in I guess). Basically what Philipsen did in Gooikse Pijl when Thijssen beat him.

yeah, over now. The break way caught fairly late (maybe with 2k to go, the distance left disappeared as well), one Lotto rider crashed, de Lie went too early, and Philipsen won. That was about it.

According to the - somewhat limited by limited info - liveupdate on Feltet.dk they went from 15 Ks to go to 0 Ks to go in less than a minute.

Groenewegen is getting beaten a lot in h2h sprints lately.
Feel like it's a bad sign that he couldn't pass De Lie today who went with 250m to go while Groenewegen was in his wheel.

Groenewegen's level in 2022 is better than in 2020/2021 but's he's still off his 2018/2019 level. At the same time he's done lots of racing as have many in the peleton chasing UCI points - He's up to 71 race days and a number were unsuitable race days, while Philipsen is up to 65 race days - Groenewegen's true level will be revealed in 2023.

on that picture his face colour looks a bit more healthy than it used to, at least.

But yeah, still mainly beer related content on his social media timelines. 6 from 7 Instagram stories today include beer, and the other one is a picture of a pork chop or so.

De Lie said he sprinted like an amateur. He wanted to surprise Philipsen but went too soon.

Nevertheless, De Lie is really turning into a rider who can start rivalling the big names. Half a year ago it was very cute to see him win some low level races against no-name sprinters and take lots of points for Lotto; it turned into somewhat of a meme. But he's currently in the mix against the big boys. He has progressed at an enormous pace. We could see some great fights in the future between him and Kooij in a battle of the babes.

His power outputs aren't higher than in the beginning of the season. He was just never in good position (Frankfurt) or almost crashed due to others (Ackermann in de Panne and Merlier in Bredene) when he got the chance to sprint against the big guns. I feel that he's coming into the last few k a bit fresher meaning he doesn't loose the wheel of his leadout all the time like in the beginning of the season. That and the fact that he's basically been sprinting at a high level all season long is really good for the future.

Today he was a bit harsh on himself. Someone needed to go (either him, Groenewegen or Philipsen who were all three at the front without leadouts with 250m to go) or others wouldve come from behind and he couldve been boxed like in Gooik.

Herregodts doing Herregodts things.

But it's going to be hard to pull it off. He's no Remco yet.

Are you expecting him to ever become Remco? Is he planning on changing his name? Of course, changing his given name to 'Remco' might be easier than changing his surname to 'Evenepoel'.

De Lie doesn't care about sprinting anymore. Love it. Just keeps attacking, points situation is over anyways. This is how you become a top classic rider.
