No image of the peloton in the sprint. They were not that far behind.

Letizia 8th. I’m happy. Finally a good feeling and result again.

Moors could’ve counter attacked after Gasparrini with those legs. Last race in Hageland she didn’t have a chance in the sprint, now she does the same again.

I think she was right to trust her sprint, and Wiebes probably wasn't going to allow her to ride away anyway after their battle in Oetingen.

Oh yeah it was Oetingen. There she didn’t ride and lost by 5 bike lengths. Or you don’t work again or you attack. But she made her point for trusting her sprint again today.

Maybe Gasparrini was the better bet for UAE to sprint. Was a really strong attack and Swinkels had nothing left.

but it just shows though a few more attacks might have been enough to make the difference, I know she was mucking about abit at the end, but Wiebes didnt power away from them like she normally does, she can be beaten if the other riders make her do the work instead of constantly dragging her to the finish line and being surprised then shes quicker than them.

UAE probably felt it would be a failure if they didn't get a podium so keeping one rider "fresher" for the sprint did make some sense for them. Gasparrini's accelerations were always more likely to zapp energy from Wiebes, but in the end they probably wouldn't have ended up with a different result if they had switched roles or taken turns attacking.

It was obviously circumstantial, but it's still funny that Guazzini managed to win the sprint behind after I'd claimed FDJ didn't have one of the fastest riders.
