Big surprise, former Gerolsteiner team manager Hans-Michael Holczer alleges Levi Leipheimer likely doped heading into the 2005 Tour de France. So, is the Santa Rosa, Calif. wonder boy another in a growing list of American cycling frauds?

Considering Levi has been going backwards ever since whenever facing real climbers in the grand tours, he probably was doped.

Does this mean then that only Bobby Julich, Chris Horner, Chris Vandevelde and Tyler Farrar represent domestic riders who actually succeeded on their own merits abroad?

Too bad for Levi, if true the allegations, cycling fans are not as forgiving as the sycophants of MLB, NFL, etc.
