People who watch cycling will watch the race.
People who watch superbikes are already watching the superbikes.
Remember the fuss when VS or whoever it was cut the end of the Tour of California for hockey? Superbikes fans would have every right to be annoyed if their coverage was cut short before the finish to go live to something where there's still at least a couple of hours left to go.
Eurosport's priorities are not alienating those viewers they do have, since they don't have the biggest budget in the world. They're still providing plenty of cycling coverage, but this way they're not alienating another key audience.
I don't want them to stop the superbike coverage, but that's fact, that cycling is the least important.
Show the podium ceremony from an indifferent sport what takes 15 minutes, when we know that the cycling coverage should have started half an hour ago? Of course!
Show the 11th finisher in a monument, when we should show a tennis replay? No way!!!
That's my problem.
