After Chris's horrific crash last July, I had my doubts that he would even come back and race again. And when Bruyneel announced Chris's 2 year extension with the new Becca team - Chris thanked Johan and said it would help him with his still ongoing recovery back then.

I think after Chris gets over his understandable disappointment with missing this years TdF, he will not be so mad at Johan. Hard to say though.

Thinking back, Chris missed the 2009 TdF because Alberto wanted another one of "his guys" on the team - and Bruyneel agreed. I know Alberto and Andy are BFF's, and I have to wonder if something similiar is happening this year? Who knows.

Yeah, blame Contador indirectly. You are a pretty sad case.:(

What's funny is Jen's V didn't ride the Giro, TdS or the D.... and he is on the team is he not?

Hog lying again?

"The Belgian director said he spelled out very clearly to everyone on the team at the beginning of the season that in order to be selected for the Tour, riders had to participate in either the Critérium du Dauphiné, which ended Sunday, or the Tour de Suisse."

Johann says you weren't supposed to notice that contradiction.:D

What on earth is Hayden roulston going to bring to a 3 week event?

What on earth is your problem with Hayden Roulston? And why pose the same question in two different threads? Roulston isn't a terrible rider. He has a top 10 in a PR and a podium finish in a tour stage. If he rode he'd be carrying bottles and whatnot. He can climb a little and is good on the flat. Solid rider.

I remember Horner talking about tactics against Evans and Contador last winter

He still has time to develope a new one for next august-september, he must move to Luxembourg and watch Tour on TV while prepare the plan:D

Ya, I was searching an article a short time ago and came across it - I got a good chuckle reading it back then, but it is less amusing for them now.

“If Andy is the best guy at the Tour de France hands down, then I get to ride on the front on the second to last climb and start the last climb at the front. I’m on TV the whole time, destroying the whole field, bringing it down to five-ten guys maybe, and then Andy gets to go on and win the Tour de France and I make €50,000 afterwards, no problem,” he said.

Klöden made remarks to the press about the Schlecks' ineffectual teamwork back when the merger was formalized. So not that out of character.

Kloden seems to be taking a leadership role with the RSNT Tour team, as it should be, he being the most experienced and best placed rider in Tours past.
Wheelside down, and Godspeed in LeTour Andreas.

one observation might be that chris horner has always been candid and vocal with his opinions his entire career. Politically these type of opinions might tend to erk management and perhaps teammates over the years regardless how objective. Personally I dont think it's helped his career. As candid as he is publicly, imaging the smack he throws down privately among piers and management.

I tend to do the same in my life and work and it has never fared well for me politically.

perhaps this is his curse. perhaps its a reason? I don't know.

I gurantee Yaroslav makes it to the tour. Sherwin would have a fit if he couldn't name drop him excessively for no reason.

and he says it with such passion ;)

Wonder what Becca's going to say about Hog now being implicated in the USADA formal charges and Armstrong bann....

Said it earlier. If I'm Becca, Bruyneel is gone.

RadioShack may be un-salvageable.

So the normally quiet Klöden has come out of the woodwork to put down a teammate. Horner is crushed about being left off the TdF list and Andreas links an article about it saying he agrees 100% with Bruyneel? That's a huge d*** move from Klöden. So much for the respect I had for him. I've wished him the best in all his races for years, but I don't think I can this time. You don't trash your teammates.

It's just another example of how completely dysfunctional this team is. Bruyneel has been completely unable to effectively manage the team. He's also been horribly unprofessional, taking shots at the Schlecks in the media and letting Horner find out he wouldn't be in the TdF via the media. Then there's keeping Andersen away from the TdF in what is hard to interpret as anything but a power play by Bruyneel.

I'll say again that Bruyneel has a team that, based on talent, should be one of the best if not the best ProTour team. Instead they're a dysfunctional joke. The buck stops with Bruyneel. He should be tossed out on his a**.

As for the idea of Andreas being the team leader for the Tour, who are people kidding? He's a good rider but hasn't been capable of a podium at the TdF for years. All Radioshack can do is support Frank Schleck, hope he lights it up in the mountains to get the team attention, and maybe he takes enough time to finish in the top 5 or so when he loses tons of time in the ITTs.

As I said, Bruyneel should be gone because he's taken a super talented team and made them a dysfunctional joke where much of the drama has been instigated by him. Pathetic.

Let's also remember Leopard had a little drama last year before Bruyneel

Radio Shack did not want to sponsor a Luxembourg team. They were shanghaied into it by their contract with Bruyneel's organization. It would be interesting if they used The Hog's involvement with doping to cut sponsorship.

It was nothing compared to this though and mostly behind the scenes

He was also part of the only group of RSNT riders that showed any decent form, I call it "the Cancellara effect"

So what's the rule here? Can Bruyneel DS the team with formal charges from the uSADA pending?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Becca will come out and "provisionally suspend" Bruyneel pending developments in the case.

I don't see how the sponsors sit still for the distraction.

I'm thinking their buddy Pat will let them slide since its not a UCI issue (yet) and acting on it only opens the door to their associations with them.

Sponsors are probably pretty happy, this is going to put their names in the headlines more than the racing has all year so far!

his relationship with Horner isn't the best, I think it carried to extremes after Klöden won Pais Vasco - which was supposed to be Horner's race to win.

He has beaten him fair and square (in the timetrial) so I don't know for what reason Horner was angry or what exactly happened but I think his latest tweets have been influenced by their general relationship (or maybe even Horner's attitude towards teammates in general - I don't know who of his "clan" is left after Leipheimer having left the team after last season)

Bruyneel did not make them what they are on his own. The potential was there, it was a team effort and they succeeded beyond even their own wildest dreams.
