I'm looking forward to another faded jersey fiasco..... I say bring it on. Get Lance back in the sport via the Shlecks then have it all come down come when the Feds knocking.

Remember 2009.... just when you thought doping was subsiding every one had to re-amp it for the Lance attack. I'm not sure the UCI will allow it.... they can't. Can they?

My two most hated teams combining. It will be a perfect storm of hate. I am looking forward to next season already.

This is Leopard's last gamble to find a big sponsor. If they don't find one, they will have to merge. They publicly denied negotiations, why on earth would you want to do that if the negotiations are happening? Maybe there are also other negotiations happening right now and they felt they needed to confirm their yet free status.

Normally, in the early period of negotiation, you deny to have plans to do so, but stay silent on the possibility if it will ever happen.

Ok, ok, still in hands of the clinic- and hate-guys. No mod cares. Of course not.

We'll have to wait to talk about the real interesting things regarding this merger, until those guys are seperated into the clinic with their own merger-thread, where all the own-built clinicstuff and hate can be merged.

Any mods around here ? Have you noticed that those guys use this RS-thread as another Trojan horse again to spread their ridiculous propaganda into the cyclingforum ?

Maybe that is the key right there. Desperate. The moneymen cannot be happy with their super team failing at its every objective. Even Cancellara, who should have been a shoo-in for a big win or two, has been a letdown. He is riding like crap right now and will not get his customary world title.

If Bruyneel goes to Leopard, brings key personnel with him, and indictments are handed down for him and his staff then how does the UCI handle that? Does the team get suspended? Do races withdraw their invitations?

The key is, that you are both wrong again. :D
The key to success.

One down, nine to go to reduce to 30. Who will be next? This :cool:rumor is becoming true.

Sorry to say this, Nr.1.
Check your facts and do the math again.

Is Levi under contract at RS for next year ?

How many guys have RadioShack actually signed for next year, a lot of contracts expire at the end of this season. Horner, Kloden, Brajkovic. Meersman, Gallopin seem to be the only definite signings plus some of the younger guys who had signed two year contracts.

How many Radioshack guys will move if the merger happens as it is hard to imagine Leopard having many guys on one year contracts that they can dump. Guys will have to be sacrificed which is sad to see happen. Really dont like the Bruyneel way of doing business.

How about a couple of years down the road when some contracts have expired. Next years tour, Radioshack and Leopard working together for the Schlecks.

Well the news of Leipheimer's move to OP/QS is likely the first of many bails by the older stage racers on Shack. I hoped it wasn't likely but it appears as more info and details comes to the surface, I'll have to accept it as a definite possibility.

I'm not familiar with the contract situations of many of the riders on both teams but I'd guess that Horner would prefer to not spend his final years as a pro playing domestique at the Tour for anyone and will also be seeking out a new team although considering the seriousness of his crash and the resulting complications it will make his prospects not as bright, in addition to this advanced age. Garmin would be a good landing spot for him or even BMC where he could team with Evans in the mountains to counter the JVB2/LL combo. That would be an interesting battle since I think deep down LL may resent a bit Horner's snatching the team leadership from him in ToC.

Kloden was on a high form wise this season before his crash, but he's not adverse to playing super-domestique as long as he gets his opportunities during the season.

Confirmed to OPQS

It has the smell of truth about it. Leipheimer's new contract with Omega just about confirms it I think. Will Bruyneel get better results than Leopard's current management ? I think so. Some of the other veterans on both teams may be looking for another team even though I think some of them are still quality riders. Saxo is one team that must be looking for new riders as they have not announced any signings of consequence, so the excess from these teams still might find a home, at least some of them.

Saxo, Leopard, and others are still trying to deal with the financial reality of the sport today. RadioShack has a story that has nothing to do with the "expert commentary" of posters in this forum. It's clear that teams are having to make decisions that they would not have considered even two years ago. Thanks for noticing Saxo's stealth. I don't think any of us are smarter than Riis, Bruyneel, and the others at what they do. If Bob Stapleton can't get a team sponsor, then it becomes very clear that this a tough time.
