Clearly when two riders on a team are the last in contention there's no reason for the stronger one not to go for it.
webvan said:I see...well with the self penned second best climber in the world finishing 55" down one hopes that Horner won't have any qualms about working for Kloden now.
Thanks, that does explain it, however he'll hopefully be able to put the "500-600 watts for way too long" in the climbs...wouldn't Popo have been better for that kind of work?BillytheKid said:He is now the pilot fish for Frank or even Zubeldia...

Looks like JB left some instructions, someone needs to give Ratshack a call.Horner finished tenth in the 2010 Tour de France, and later ninth after the disqualification of winner Alberto Contador. Despite this he doesn't have a protected role in the team, according to director sportif Dirk Demol, due to his age and fragile health condition.

I am glad Horner's out of any GC stuff, he can still climb and might have a chance on Stage 7, which I hoping Sir Wiggo will lose a minute or more in 6 K to Schleck, Cadel etc. That's some SOB of a climb.

movingtarget said:The yellow helmets look odd with the rest of their colours but maybe it's a reminder to the team "that it's all about yellow".............as if they needed reminding.

Cimber said:There is a reason, yes. But the rules actuelly say that the leading can CAN choose to wear yellow helmets, but are NOT REQUIRED to do so. So Sky could just have chosen not to. The rules only give them the option to wear them
