But if the team is not bankrupt then why not pay the riders on time? Another scare tactic from Bruyneel or?

Also there was the story about the kitchen truck. Last year it was shown off in the press. This year it is gone, and the compagny who built it hasn't been payed yet.

Horner was stuck in the big ring on the Saint-Clair climb today. Twice in one race? Disgruntled mechanic?

That does make sense and because he can do what he did in the first week, he gets away with it. I still don't agree with it, but I also don't agree with the placement the road events at the Olympics. How many others are going home now? Your sponsor pays you to ride the most televised cycling event in the world for a reason, not to ride the Olympics.

who knows what kinda relationship cancellara is having right now with the team sponsor??
The rumor or facts about RSNT are everywhere.

I guess Cancellara waited as long as he could:

Chris Horner ‏@hornerakg
And congrats to @f_cancellara on the birth of his second little girl! Best wishes for the family and newest @RSNT addition.

Just posted. Congrats. That's what I get for being synical. Still, I think he might of had a shot on today's finish. As someone said though, somethings are more important than a bike race.

...and to make things easier he apparently wants his salary to go a company he's set up...a different one where he asked to paid last year...

They call themselves a pro team, they should be able to handle a change in bank account number no?

The issue does not appear to be bank account related, try giving your employer bank account info where your name doesn't appear and report back.

i had my wages paid to an offshore account for 6 years in a company name that had absolutely no connection to my real name

no problems at all, wages went through immediately no questions asked

i was employed by one of the largest & most powerful organisations in europe

A large most powerful organisation won't care where your salary is deposited. On the other hand, does the tax man know?

Just to clarify. Becca is already in trouble with the tax authorities. Do you think he wants to be chased for tax evasion on the part of his cycling team as well?

The rider having sued Leopard S.A. through his company is indeed Jakob Fuglsang. Rock: "This affair is actually pretty simple. Last year, we paid Mr. Fuglsang's salary to a private company. This year, we were told to pay them to a different company. We then asked for legal documents assuring us of the seriousness of this company, because we do not want to be involved in any way in money laundering. To this day, we are waiting for these documents".

;)

Good for you but different companies handle things differently. I hardly think Leopard was excessive or out of bounds to ask for a few simple documents. If Fuglsang doesn't provide them that's either his own negligence or one must ask why he didn't provide them.

Of course it's possible that there was some miscommunication

Team Radioshack Nissan Trek has no right to withhold a riders wages because they are not sure if they can approve of where he is going to put the money. He doesn't need to provide any documents or in any other way justify himself to the team to get the money he has rightfully earned. If they suspect something is wrong with his business they can report him to the relevant authorities. Enough with the vigilantism, not to mention the hypocrasy.

Idk I'm not a legal expert, are you? For one I believe Team Radioshack Nissan Trek has nothing to do with this, but Leopard S.A. does. Idk if they were legally allowed to withhold payments because of this but I believe they were certainly entitled to ask for a minimum of information on where their money was going

Thanks for the compliment. I'd just like to state that my name is not Marie-Antoinette. I'll now crawl back to Lala land and leave you to your lucubrations.

So if you were working for me would I be entitled to withhold your paycheck until you had proved to me that you would not spend it on hookers and blow? Is that how things work in Luxembourg?

If your company was under scrutiny by the media every day and I was your star employee you would be entitled to some security that you are not funding criminal activity ... that is how things work most everywhere, I am afraid.

And if to prove that all I had to do was make a copy I guess I could live with that ...

If Jakob should choose to use his wages on criminal activity - which I seriously doubt he would - it would be HIM funding criminal activity, not the company he works for. They are not responsible for how he uses his money.

If they seriously think that Jakob is involved in something criminal they should report him to the police, not set up their own little court. But very likely this claim is only a bad excuse to cover one of two possibilities:

1) They are close to bankruptcy (people have lied about this before you know ;) )

2) Holding back wages is Johan Bruyneel's little way of getting back at riders for not letting him treat them as dirt (His usual modus operandi)

Seriously, if this was only about sending a letter do you think Jakob would have bothered to sue?
