Well it is kind of odd to ask someone about the state of their bank account, I could see why that might p*ss people off

Naw. You are a pro. for which you live on the public and die by it too. He's moreover on a team that's surrounded by controversy at the moment, for which a lack of payments on the part of the employer only reinforces the controversy regarding all the circumstances we know, and, as such, Shleck should comprehend the absolute pertinence of the question being made. It was a fair inquiry, not an invasion of his privacy, nor a low blow. Though his reaction was as if it were a low blow. If he wants to be out of the kettle then he should not have jumped in it. To reiterate he wasn't asked how much he makes, but only if he's been paid.

He wasn't asked specifically about the state of his bank account, but if his team is paying him. Given the situation, if he doesn't like the question then he should change jobs.

The cycling public has a right to know about the controversy surrounding his current team. Thus if he is unhappy about being the center of attention in this matter, then he should not have worked with Bruyneel.

What gets me is the gall he has to respond indignantly about something he wasn't asked. It only makes these guys look like dicks.

Just because the public and the press is interested in something doesn't mean that contractual matters between to business partners has to be dealt with in public. That's a bit silly.

The reporter is free to ask as provocative a question he likes, but if he can't take the heat himself he better get out... I remember an interview some years ago where an EU politician was asked about his earnings and he retorted that the journo was probably earning more than that and if the should discuss and compare salaries. That journo actually shut up - it didn't seem to work for poor Frank though...

What I find most ridiculous though is that RSNT seem to have this great need of doing bad PR for their riders at the moment coming up with what pretty much amounts to accusations of money laundering by their prominent riders. I'm not saying it can't be true, but they shouldn't make comments like that to the media it's extremely unprofessional and only makes the sense that there's problems behind the scenes of the company so much stronger.

So, Frank, Andy and Fabian haven't been paid as well...

Why is the idiotic ownership making public statements right in the middle of the TDF identifying the riders complaining to UCI about non-payment??

Even though I'm a RSNT fan, RSNT has got to have the WORST PR/marketing in the world!! They can't seem to generate good publicity.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that the rumors about Schlecks and Cancellara departures at the end of the year are likely true.

I believe you'll get that right :)

Why are cyclists such dicks?

I watched the interview with F. Shleck and when asked if he'd been paid he responded by asking the reporter: "Do I ask you how much you make?"

He wasn't asked how much he makes, but if he got paid. Why can't he say just "Sorry, I can't comment on that."

The link in your post isn't working but I suppose you're referring to this interview. If you think he's being a **** you're seriously thin skinned.

The journalist asks about the state of his bank account and his reply is clearly non-aggressive and only serves to illustrate that he (Schleck) thinks that the subject is private.

Ouch ouch! Frank!!!

Yeah, definitely out of RSNT now.

Assuming there's a RSNT next year!

I guess I have to start rooting for someone else.

I wonder how Frank's "withdraw" affects the team competition. I suppose they'll throw out all his time, and use the next "fastest" time for each stage.

On the other hand, what in the world is xipamide and if it's not a "banned" substance, then what's the big deal?

It's not odd in light of the reports in the media of riders not getting paid. ..............

The moral of this story is to make sure you get a competant manager to negotiate and manage your contracts and to manage your assets.

Was wondering this as well. Not sure it would drop them behind sky because theyve usually had 4 at or near the front, but I do have a bet on RSNT to win the teams comp

Nice catch. I thought the question was worded "his bank account" which would be a privite matter for anyone, but we now know payment was withheld because of "non-transparent" issues, which tells you the reporter might not have been as sloppy with his words as one would think.

Frank maybe did it to himself to get away from Bruyneel and the poisonous atmosphere at Trek, the stuff is a diuretic, like he has to slim down anymore.. Could be he's just jealous of Andy, as he's actually sitting on a beach slamming mojitos and rooting the local beauties .. :D Actually, I think Trek is washed up for this Tour, and doubt if there will be a team next year...

If and only if Schlecks result doesnt count, I think RSNT just vill lose 2.15. Only in the upphil finishes Schlecks result actually was better than the 4th RSNT man.

But there still a risk that one of Klöden, Horner and Zubeldia will blow up. So I think the fact Schleck wount ride the next few stages will have a stronger effect off the teams GC

This team is full of evil people, Zubeldia left alone and lost two positions:rolleyes:

I think they are just concerned with winning the Team Podium. If they dropped back to protect Zubeldia (who will loose time in the ITT anyway) they would have perhaps lost too much time today. They will loose masses to Sky, etc in the ITT except for Klöden (who should do OK). Klöden will move into a top ten and Zubeldia out after tomorrow.

I think Zubeldia was OK with it... otherwise you would be knocking them for falling apart as a team. Check on your "evil" statement. The Team podium is worth more than Zubeldia in 11th place in Paris.

Horner among the best for me today obviously.

Wrong.

Radio lost 1'26" for Sky in the first time-trial and were 17 minutes (!) ahead of Sky today. Argos was last in the Besançon time-trial and lost 14 minutes for Sky, how the hell can Radio lose 15 minutes for Sky ?

Zubeldia was only 10" behind Kloden in the first time-trial and is a fairly reasonable guy in ITT.

They just threw a 4th or 5th place for absolutly nothing. But really, nothing.

PS: And Kloden didn't even bother to look to Zubeldia, such an arrogant attitude there.

Schelecks are saying bye bye, joint strong force with Nibali:D

Can't see TT king stay here either,

RSNT in my opinion no matter what is over. It is just the victim of aftermath effect of LA.

Will this, if true, put the kibosh on the Nibali move I wonder. He does not seem as a rider interested in playing second fiddel anywhere anymore.

Nibali is not Tour obsessed at least not before he win the Giro, so it could be Nibali Giro Vuelta, Scheleck Tour. And Scheleck usually only race Tour anyway. The only problem I think is LBL, maybe they will share co-leadership plus the defending champion from Astana. But they have to face the challenge from Sagan and Philip(if he can get his mojo back)
