I actually didn't realise Tiberi was riding, I feel like UK comms didn't really mention him? Paret-peintre also fifth
Hatch, who also commented on him the TotA, mentioned him a few times when he was pacing the group behind Healy/Bardet/Cosnefroy/Gregoire. But Tiberi was also right up there behind the UAE train for most of the day. Excited to see him in the Giro.

Ok, lets create some artificial Tour hype then.

I don't fully trust Roglic, although he is back on the bike already and should be optimally prepared.
Evenepoel is hurt, so we have to see.
Pogacar will have a Giro in his legs and peaked too early anyway according to user Ilmaestro99.
Vingegaard with his pneumothorax is very uncertain to even make it.

So, there is only one conclusion after today's race: Bernal upsets them all and wins his second Tour.

Van der Poel's result is historic.

Someone of his weight podium iat Lieje is not easy at all, although it is true that the new route makes it easier.

How many Roubaix winners have been on the Liège podium? It's like if Pogacar makes a podium in Roubaix one day, it would be something historic, although we all dream that one day he can win it, but something would have to happen to the favorites, It is not his race, as it's not Líeje of VDP either.

People still thinking Pogacar won't be at least 99% at the Tour?

You really just watched LBL and think the cycling common sense of 2015 applies to him?

Then you wake up

The race went exactly as expected for first. Nothing before Redoute (besides a crash), as the section from Stavelot to the foot of Redoute favours a big group and is known as such by the riders, reinforcing a stalemate there.

Then come the climb, and the race was over at the top. The gap quickly went out, and there never was any doubt.

Modulo headwind, I actually quite enjoyed the race for 2nd. It took a while for 4 riders to get away before RaF and they worked quite well together. They duked it out on RaF, and Bardet was strong enough to drop the rest and stay away. Ineos chased behind, and Bernal (!) was the first to bridge the gap to the three left in front. The wind, the route and the distribution of strengths of those left then meant that no one could get away for 3rd.

While I would like the route to change, I think it's important to keep in mind how different it would have been without Pogi here. Or with Evenepoel at his best here too.
