How is Cadel's team looking btw?

Without Kroon, it will be a bit harder. But it's alright. interesting little interview with velonation on here.

“Flèche Wallonne simply suits me better than Liege-Bastogne-Liege," he said to Sporza. “The Mur de Huy suits me better. In the past I had often problems with the distance in Liège. 260 km: that hurt a lot early in the season.”

However there’s reason to believe that things could be a little different this year. “That was when I was working on building form, while my condition is already poised for the Giro.”

"It’s possible that on Sunday I can deal with more distance than usual. But I’m aware that after my victory on Wednesday, I will be more closely watched in Liege-Bastogne-Liege.”

If Cadel manages to pull the F-W/LBL double will he be satisfied enough to alter his priorities & ambitions for the GT'S? Will the Giro become prep for Le Tour?

coverage for eurosport starts around 10pm. However generally they can run a little late, forsure by 11 though.

Not sure - Id like to see him focus on one first then the other rather than both. I can see BMC being streched too far

And I was just about to ask what time it is tonight - hopefully I can find some internet coverage somwhere

Two hundred riders in the race. How many of them could finish second or third Sunday and have people call it a failure? ;)

Contador FTW. Others have more experience on the course, but as long as he doesn't have to expend too much energy keeping up with the contenders, it comes down to the last twenty kilometers, and he's had three days to study that, including one with Vino, a former winner, along to work it out.

Hard to go past Astana. Contador + Vino + Other tough racers looks hard to beat.

I'd love to see Kolobnev get the BIG win he really deserves but Rodriguez will probably have all support.

Can anyone tell me who these guys are?:

122 Brent Bookwalter (USA)
123 Mathias Frank (Swi)
124 Jeffry Louder (USA)
125 Steve Morabito (Swi)
126 Jackson Stewart (USA)
127 Danilo Wyss (Swi)
128 Simon Zahner (Swi)

With the exception of Morabito and Wyss I didn't know any of them. Doesnt look like a team that can support someone in a classic (not semi-classic ;)).

I believe Mathias Frank rode for Gerolsteiner and probably has been the Swiss RRC. Jeff Louder has been around on the American scene for quite a while and has picked up the KOM at the Tour of California IIRC.

Thanks Craig. That all rings a bell, I should have probably googled first but ehh, its a Sunday.

Still looks to be a bit of a no-name team (with the obvious exception).

if he pulls it off, it will be confirmation (for himself, his DS and team) that he is in red hot form coming into the Giro

when you are in from, you MUST capitalise on it, becoz injuries can ruin a career and when you get one unexpectedly you will look back and think darn i could of won that race before i was injured.

therefore, if he wins the double then he will be so confident going into the giro to be able to pick up bonus seconds (and maybe a stage win) with his new found confidence and kick that he will absolutely target pink overall and then hope to rediscover that form in July

(most weekends i target pink - the guys will get that joke ;))

I hope Cadel doesn't show the form to win this race. Because there is no way you keep that form until the last week of the Giro, so if he's in great shape, he won't be in the Giro stages that matter.

So here's hoping his form is still below-par and building

Since he is Australian, it would be great if Cadel wears a black armband.

If he wins, it would be nice if he pointed to the sky just in memory of the anzacs. Liege is not too far from where we fought.

Stuff it, changing my podium

Evans
Kolobnev
Gilbert

I didn't say you can't win be in top form for Liége and win the Giro, though.

I said you can't be in top form for Liége and hold it until the final week of the Giro.
And I did think of Di Luca as I wrote it. Di Luca was winning mountain stages in the first two weeks and running out of gas in the last week.

Lucky for him, that Giro was front-loaded (unlike this one) and he won a ton of time in the TTT ;)

I'm going with Valverde for a very very unpopular win.

Considering it is Anzac day it would be good if an Aussie won. Cadel is the in form Aussie in the peloton. Him winning would be poetic.
