Any update on this? Has Baker admitted his guilt yet?

For all of the sh!t they said about you, (not to mention the Lemond thing) I hope they all end up breaking rocks for awhile.

Oh, no arguments here. Landis and especially his legal team (and manager's) behavior during the hearing was absolutely inexcusable, and in the end justice was served. I've said that before, and won't dispute it for one moment.

I only think that at some point both the weight of his past, and the feeling of total loss of his accomplishments, money, and family is going to collapse and Floyd is going to crack, and along with that there's a chance he'll spill his guts. One of the things I think that drives that is his upbringing. But we'll see. As BroDeal says, Hamilton is probably closer to completely cracking, but Tyler is such a non compos I don't know what he'll really say.

The defiant streak in Floyd is one of the things that make him a great rider.

Could he be too broke to defend himself now?

Not sure what these guys said, other than Floyd's "Who the f*** is that guy?!" Though I'm sure Joe has a filing cabinet he got from others.

Baker is such a strange bird, I have to wonder what he's going to do, especially if he's tried in absentia?

When the story broke that Floyd's A sample came back positive, I remember saying to my best friend that I thought he was done, and had only one way out.

No, it wasn't confess.

It was to blame it on a physician (Baker?!) giving him a shot to his ailing hip right before the Tour. He probably still would have lost his appeals over time, as the science would have said the corticosteroid shot for his hip shouldn't have produced those test results, but he would have had a much, much better chance arguing that in the public eye, and maybe, just maybe, to USADA or CAS.

In retrospect, I think a confession may have hurt him just as much, as the omerta is still so strong.

Sorry to say, but I still think Floyd has farther to sink in the hole he, and others helped him dig since that day, and any sort of confession won't come for some time. Speaking of, I found what Telegraph said about how much Floyd "lost" by testing positive:

• $1.9 million annual salary plus bonuses as a team leader
• $3.8 to $7.6 million annually in endorsements of equipment, bike manufacturers, clothing and lifestyle products as reigning Tour winner
• $38,000 to $95,000 per personal appearance
• $38,000 to $48,000 per race in subsequent seasons
• $1-2 million for the rights to a ghosted autobiography

He didn't work for two years, though it's hard to say how much he was able to pocket from his support during that time, or what medical bills he may have had. He's now divorced, has the $100k debt from the CAS ruling. I'm guessing he makes about $50k-75k a year riding for Ouch. Maybe it's more, I don't have any idea. He's also divorced. And if he's like the rest of us, probably got creamed on his mortgage on his San Diego home, and his stock portfolio probably tanked as well. Oh, and he's tied to Baker in this latest mess.
