I would say any course would be bad for a 75 year-old hag who is suddenly forced to ride without her meds.

Are you a hag yourself? or do you just look to be over 75?

Don't they say that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones?

How about comments concerning doping from people who admire Berzin?

Do you really think the EPO was for Mr. Longo?

You mean P. Ciprelli. Well Joe seems to think it was for Pitel, see above.

Any comment on this article?

To reiterate - I think you have a near-obsessive blind devotion to Longo and you're desperate to cling to the fantasy that she didn't dope. In that sense, she is to you what Armstrong is to Polish.

"Mr Longo" was an ironic formula, sorry you didn't get that.

Indeed I had seen the article. Longo was once again into her victimisation mode, and this article is a good reminder of how she has constantly rejected any solidarity and empathy with her competitors. She lives in her little world where she derserves to be chosen for national team simply because who she is.

That she is disappointed that her dope supplier husband wasn't allowed at the nationals is an indication of just how out to lunch she is. Of course the national federation didn't want her to qualify after all the doping related incidents she was implicated in over the past year. It is only logical she was repeatedly tested as she was a huge doping risk.

Hopefully we will stop talking about her and move on. There is a point when old people trying to be young is no longer inspirational, it is sad.

No kidding.

We agree on that, so they did all they could to avoid finding themselves in some embarrassing situation, like having to take her to London.

There is a point when old people trying to be young is no longer inspirational, it is sad

I don't see that she is trying to be young, just herself. Obviously no esthetic surgery, wouldn't you agree?

I am glad to see young women becoming competitive in France.

As far as I am concerned, age should never be a factor when selecting people be it for a job or a competition.

I see that you haven't followed my various comments about her.

I am not talking about yours, but in many of the negative comments about Longo I see prejudice based on her indecent age for a competitive sportswoman, or other totally irrelevant points.

As for her doping, I have expressed my doubts about one particular performance of hers ( Mount Evans), and she does not belong to the category of people in cycling about whom I feel certain they never doped. Among the latter I would put Delion and Moncoutié (added next day : I should also name Bassons as ill-intentioned readers might interpret his absence the wrong way), but not for example Mottet or Longo.

As an older cyclist I particularly resent criticism/proposed discrimination linked to age. Last time I entered the Otztaler Radmarathon ( 228 km, 5250 m. elevation) I was among the 10 oldest competitors, but that didn't prevent me from finishing around 10-15 percentile. I enjoyed myself, should I have been excluded because of age?
If everything goes according to plans I will enter the Marmotte on July 7 together with 6 or 7000 competitors. Probably only a handful will be older than me.

Ciprelli appeal rejected

I must have not been watching properly. This one got by me. [I did a search for Longo after the Ottey news - 50 year olds still competing at the elite level. Only know one thing in life and it is not how to be a sportsperson !]

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/ciprelli-appeal-rejected

Just read Longo's statement. These B'stards ! Nothing contrite anywhere from Longo or Ciprelli ! The French Federation tried to stop her qualifying for the Olympics by not letting her cheating, lying, husband be with her (shock horror - how very dare they !). She was expected to ride the bike and concentrate on that - how could they be so nasty.

Absolutely no concept of who they have robbed and the appalling example they portray. There is only one thing these drug cheats are sorry about and that is sorry they were caught.

Thought it was Viagra !

6 November 13 Ciprelli's appeal has been rejected so the charges stand.

http://alpes.france3.fr/2013/11/06/...jeannie-longo-reste-mis-en-examen-352957.html

Love the bit about "Jeannie Longo's husband would he indeed said it was Viagra."

http://www.pharmacyescrow.com - An account with password in the name of Patrice ciprelli. 15 orders worth 14,800 Euro. Joe what was the deal ?

Prices must have been a bit to steep or he couldn't handle the order !

Anyway it is all ok because Ciprelli had just fallen off the bike and he needed it to help him heal quickly.

Another article here.

This one has some parcels going to Michel Lucatelli , coach of France Ski Cross.

I don't know.
The 2 links in red pretty much say the same thing.
Edit : color change didn't work, it's Alpesfrance 3 (TV station) and Lexpress (newspaper)

Ciprelli had the deliveries made at his friend's place and at his mother's.

I assume he will be tried in 2014 as the charges were confirmed in Nov 2013.

Therefore I just feel like waiting, certainly will not go on the other side of town at the track in Vernier to ask her:D (She often trains in Geneva according to a friend who just moved to Austria)

She is likely still doping her brains out although I doubt she had many to begin with, these people are so stupid it hurts.

Which says absolutely nothing. I've met more stupid rich people with degrees than poor smart ones.

I am forced to agree with you if I consider that a recent president of the US graduated from Harvard of all places! But then again, he comes from a rich family.

That is not the case for Longo.
I have posted below her CV.

I would dare say that just the first line of it, in red, shows that she was smarter than at least 95% of the people on this forum.

3) Formation scolaire, universitaire et professionnelle :

Bac scientifique

Marrying Ciprelli wasn't too smart.

I really don't think a bac S puts her in the top 5%. Maybe in her day it meant more than it does now.

Despite her degrees, she appears to spend her time doping and trying to re-live her glory days with less and less success. Maybe she would be better off putting her degrees to use.
