March 17th 2012 Milan-Sanremo - The Primavera - 298km

The hours of coverage, three if I remember are somewhat tough for me given that I need to wake up at around 4 in the morning to catch the race. I'll probably just wake up to see the final hour where the real action begins.

Eurosport over here only cover the last 1½ hour of the race anyway - which is fitting. Not much to see anyway before that.

That will be more than enough (coverage). MSR is the sort of race where you can attend your garden all day and just slip in once in a while to see if your favorite dropped out along the way. In reality they could make the race 200 km without problems.

For all the classics; MSR, Roubaix, Flanders, they did some pretty extensive coverage. I'm used to them just showing it for an hour and a half at most.

Nibali/Sagan could be a very dangerous partnership if they play it right. Gonna go for Boonen though, about time he had a San Remo on his palmares.

I would laugh if Sagan does a Sagan/ Boonen ( last year RvV ) and reels in Nibali if only for Cancellara to rip away. I trust in Cancellara to rip this whole race to shreds.

Ventoso would be good in a sprint for Movistar- i cannot believe they rode for Rojas last year in sprints when Ventoso won a stage at the Giro. I also expect Costa to go with the moves on the Poggio. Viviani could be the Liquigas sprinter if it is a big sprint- though i am sure Sagan/ Nibali will ensure the race can be decided in a small group/ solo/ reduced sprint.

It's a pity Kittel is not starting ( i assume because of the length )- maybe next year???

I tend to agree. I have the idea that Gilbert and Evans did not train much in the off season. Evans admitted as much. In a few weeks I think you will see a marked improvement in both of them, ready for the Ardenne classics. I think Ballan and Hushovd are the only possibilities for BMC and I really can't see either of them winning MSR either.
