yeah the tv guide is a poor indication, Amount of times I watch tennis for 20mins before we finally get the cycling going :D That being said, if the races goes past schedule, it doesn't stop coverage either.

Yeah hate it when that happens. Even today they had 5-10 mins of crap before they starting showing MSR, but overall I would say the coverage is good because you get to see all major classics and luckily for me the giro

I don't think that many countries overseas get cycling on free-to-air television either.
You pay for cable TV, you get benefits like live cycling. This is global I'd say.

Yes but the point still remains. You can say there's increased coverage r oh good there's coverage of it here when its on pay tv and not any sort of fta. ES has a very small market it caters for anyway.

I'd be surprised if this gets any more than a 10 second mention on any of the man channels here.

So come on, TSF, what do you reckon? Is it this tendinitis thing of his? I worry about poor EBH, I really do. That stuff starts early in a career and you're stuck with it.

I am worried about him too. Would have been better if they had him let out the lineup, or if he just let M-SR pass.
Hope he doesn't become a sports invalid (disabled person).

I agree with the fail. Hugely disappointing. Maybe it's also that they thought Haussler would last the distance. In that respect, one could say the same about Sky with Boasson Hagen.
There was no reason to think that Haussler shouldn't last the distance though and I'm hugely surprised that he was dropped. On paper he is a stronger climber than Goss and certainly should be stronger after 290 km.

Yea, stages 4 and 6 of Tirreno-Adriatico were immense too.

At the moment I think it has to be between those 3. Nothing else (from the world of cycling) comes close.

But to be honest, those stages in Tirreno will be long forgotten at the end of the season. We might remember this amazing MSR tho.

Yeah and when you could see haussler clearly in the middle of the picture in the 1st group they were saying that he was at the back of the 2nd group.

Although that being said still better then Paul and Phil(think their in hibernation until july though):D

Gilbert should be disappointed. Maybe it was the chance of his life to win MSR, but what he did was just a perfect lead out for Goss
Matthew was superb. It's not true that his win was inevitable, it's hard for pure sprinter not to be dropped from such a small group when everybody attack again and again, but he stayed and won!

They'll get a warmup in May, where they and Bob Stapleton will have a brown-nosing contest over how important the Tour of California is.

Probably true. I would expect to see a story in the Fairfax papers at least. They seem to have been providing quite a lot of coverage this year. TDU, I think Oman & Qatar, PN, TA have all had news stories this year.

Why? No one could drop Goss. Gilbert did everything he could, just wasn't good enough.

Just goes to show that the Poggio isn't hard enough, even after 290km.

Cameras picked him up a few times. I was watching gazzetta's coverage but, having watched some British Eurosport coverage of races before, I wouldn't be surprised if every time he appeared on screen Séan Kelly was in the middle of an 83-clause run-on sentence and everything that happened was missed.

It took us about half an hour to confirm that Goss was in the front group, and as an Anglophone riding for a major team, a teammate of Cavendish and a much more genuine threat to win the race than Ventoso, if it took them that long with him it's therefore not surprising that Harmon and Kelly didn't see fit to mention Ventoso even if they had identified him.

Dude, seriously, take them off. You're worse than ACF, and that's saying something.
