Jamsque said:I wonder if we are seeing a pattern emerging in M-SR: this year, as last year, the climb that had the biggest impact on the race was not Cipressa or Poggio but Le Manie. When it was first in the race in '08 I think the riders didn't really know what to do with it and just soft pedalled over, but for the past two editions the peloton has charged full gas up Le Manie and exploded. Unless the sprinter's teams really get organised for it next year I think we could see the same kind of race again.
El Pistolero said:But you got to admit, you gotta love the passion of hatred the Sporza guys feel towards Pozatto. They really talk smack about him in any race he enters![]()
I've been critical of Pozzato in past races, but I had no issue with his race today. He chased down a move that could have ended his chances. I understand that Gilbert doesn't appreciate that move, but too bad. Pozzato wasn't there to support Gilbert and he figured he had no chance if he let the move go. It turned out he didn't have the gas to push on and all he accomplished was to bring the others up to Gilbert. Well that sucks for Gilbert but that's racing. If Pozzato had attacked after reaching Gilbert we'd probably be applauding his effort.LugHugger said:Pozatto is a wheelsucker. I would support anybody over him, even Thor.![]()

thrawn said:Well they don't show all races. They do show all of the major classics & GTs though. I think they also show some of the week long stage races (PN, TA, Dauphine etc.)
who dat said:It was on eurosport news was expecting foxsports to mention something but unless cuddles wins something they usually don't mention cycling.
Unless they talk about TDU that is.
Dekker_Tifosi said:Yeah that's why I'm hoping so hard that Pozzato wins in Flanders by wheelsucking some Belgians until the end to then narrowly win in the sprint.
I can't wait to see Vannieuwkerke going nuts

Oh well, it happens in Italy as well. Some stranger came up to Oscar Freire in Varese not so long ago(he chilling out on a terrace with a teammate) and told him he had a crappy season last year. A teammate of Oscar replied he had won Milan-San Remo last year and Paris-Tours as well. The stranger said "Yeah, but you didn't win any stages at the Tour". Oscar wisely remained silent then.
Oh well, now the season is really started, so no Aussie will win anymore Protour races![]()

Nearly said:All major networks seem to have run stories during the day and/or this evening. 3 or 4am on Sunday morning is not a good time for sporting news if it is to be run in the media a little later that morning - at least for minor sports such as cycling.
