Cav hasn't had the best year, He couldn't win Milan-San Remo, He lost the points jersey in the Giro by 1 point to Purito, he was only able to win 3 stages of the tour (his worst performance ever) and was never in the running for green, he wasn't able to win his biggest goal, the Olympic road race. He won a good quantity of races this season but a lot of the races he won aren't of very high quality or prestige.

2007 was worse ;)

Anyway, I agree it wasnt a very good year for cavendish, not bad of course, but not as good as the years before. And in the years to come it will only become harder for him. The competition is now a lot better than it was in 2008-2010 IMO.

And he never ever attacked or really showed himself in a race.

Cav not happy.

I was hit by some ----head with a proper full-on wooden sign and I’ve got a sore head from it,” said Cavendish afterwards. “It was a proper whack. I was looking for him next time, I had my water bottle ready: I was going to get him.

Must be pretty upset if he had the water bottle ready ;)

no thats right when he was 10 m clear of champs elysee.

Boonen had a good year, Evans was OK, Cav was Ok

Leave the small minded bias aside for a change. Never? ********

Spech to pay his relase clause to goto OPQS apparently.

Good news, Cav needs to get away from Sky, didn't some company buy cancallara out of his saxo bank contract as well?

I love this quote from Dave Brailsford:

Dave, for a man who prides himself on details;

Tiernan-Locke is 27, soon to be 28! I hope he knows this if he is signing him for next season!

Yes, but he´s not wasted yet (Tiernan-Locke)... He quit cycling for some time, and km-wise, at the highest level, he´s still fresh. Maybe he meant that.

Getting drunk in the disco does more damage than racing.

Welcome. Cavendish - if he goes to Opqs, will el pistol still hate him?

Of course. :D

But he'll get his *** kicked more and more in the next years anyway, finally some talented sprinters coming up.

Still with Boonen as a leadout I think he'll do well.

so.... Is Cav confirmed to ride for OPQS yet?

I honestly feel sorry for him-the best sprinter in the world-is yet to find a team a year past because of team interests/conflicts & sponsors contracts-- He's really getting wore down by this BS-is like every time he seeks stability, the obstacles keep coming at him......

Judging by his last 2 wins in this year's Tour, I'd say he's going to keep making the rest look silly. And having Tom as one of his *****es can only help him keep stacking up the wins.

Boonen being his leadout will make Cav lose even more races.

Boonen hates the Tour, what makes you think he'll be there? Sponsors won't pressure him to start anymore if Cav signs for OPQS.

Champs Elysees sprint suits Cav so well because it's short and they don't race until they hit the circuit. It's the most prestigious kersmiskoers in the world if you ask me.
