Python banned??? Wtf???

If he is calling a poster names they no doubt deserved it. Python A1 poster!!!!
Pretty sure dj didn't care either. He was angry when mods had previously intervened.
How sure?

...in camera proof would be nice...you know, just to be sure...

Cheers
I think it is OBVIOUSLY clear what went down.

This is what google shows when I search for "pretty":
pretty-wild-aw15-06.jpeg
Pretty is a pretty word, used pretty much all the time when you could instead say fairly, kind of, quite, rather etc.

Fairly. The post was deleted as was the whole conversation with Python but I seem to remember it happened a few weeks back. I think it's more of a case that the mods found it unacceptable rather than the actual poster, as the name calling was going both ways.

'You have to have a thick skin to hold a discussion in the politics thread'

Yes, you have to have thick skin. But, when the sole intent of a comment is to belittle a person by name calling and insulting them that's where we draw the line. The politics threads have got to a point where only a handful of members dare post comments in them and it's been brought to my attention that other members are intimidated to the point that they don't wish to join the conversation because they fear being attacked verbally.

For real? What do they think is gonna happen to them? 'Uhh, someone wrote some words, I'm afraid the words will jump out of the screen and attack me?'

You may think it's funny but we take that seriously here, to the staff it's no laughing matter. Having a political discussion that gets a little heated is one thing, but the name calling and insults is an entirely different matter and will not be tolerated.

If you or anyone else wants to continue this conversation please do so in the "moderators" thread.

Meh. The thread has always been rough. If the fearful stick it out they can often learn something.

I reported him and said as much in the thread. I don't know why Holmes and Watson are patting themselves on the back about getting to the bottom of that mystery. Must be a slow day. Mods can adjudicate as they see fit. But I am not going to acrue any more board warnings fighting fire with fire any more when I can just report the post and be done with it. I disagree with most people in the politics thread at one time or another. Its nothing personal. Python has basically insinuated that I am a sociopath. Imo, no one should be asked to put up with that.

You're privy to a DSM no doubt, but sociopath in the common vernacular is pretty threadbare these days.

yeah, mere rhetoric, its python for chrissakes.

see how many times we have called Lance a pychopath on the board, and he is not a psychopath nor sociopath, I know the DSM have a very slight difference, but re: lay rhetoric the terms are fungible.

The only thing you learn from the politics threads is that there are plenty of people with entrenched opinions.

Which is not much different to politics thread over the rest of the internet.

I think you insinuated I was a sociopath once. I should have reported you. Or me. Or us.

....funny but the tone on the politics took a change for the worst when the Velo/dj camp started calling people stupid for supporting Saunders, yeah, stupid, and yeah Saunders....that particular jibe, and variations of it , have continued to be used as the election cycle unfolded, and then morphed into an especially annoying high pitched whine when Cheetolini done did win, and that whine has continued unabated to this day ( and btw that whine is usually served up with a huge side order of condescension and petulance which really hasn't contributed much to calming the waters... ) ....so in that atmosphere someone from the Velo/dj camp officially complained, now that is rich, very fcuking rich....

....thing is no one ran to their safe places and cried for their mommies....they just got on with dealing with the fun and frolic of what is, and always has been, the politics thread....there is a saying about heat and kitchens, and maybe some folks should find it and acquaint themselves with it, and maybe act on it....just sayin eh...

Hmmmmm.... I supported Sanders in the primary. Funny how times change... eh? I wonder if you posting that I was in league with ISIS was an attempt to calm the waters.

1) I would vote for her versus every GOP candidate, but I am not likely to vote her in the primary. I will probably be voting for Sanders (unless blutto officially gets into the race) to promote the progressive agenda. I have liked what Clinton has said recently, but she is just too hawkish in terms of foreign policy IMO.

I am still likely to vote for Bernie in my primary, but you make a better case for Clinton than I've heard from most of her surrogates. Regardless, I would support the D candidate fully no matter which person wins the nomination.

Maybe he/she is simply busy with life, and will come back eventually. It's not as if you must report for duty as soon as your ban ends.
