Now we have a moderator who warns a member who deviates from that which is "universally accepted as the truth."

It will be interesting to see how Berzin enforces his "universal truth" rule. Is that where this forum is going?

MarkvW - If we have a mod who is trying to enforce a version of "truth", I will have to agree with you! But, I can not see that this this is an accurate portrayal of this situation. Berzin's statement that this is broadly accepted as true is not even particularly pertinent. He is trying, and this IS the job of a mod, to stop a thread degnerating into a logic-free flame war. Aleajactaest has not been muzzled, yet. Aleajactaest posted his/her views, and they are known. They contributed to a discussion. That "discussion" had deteriorated, and repeatedly posting the same arguments and POV was not, in Berzin's opinion, productive.

That does not constitute enforcing a universal truth.

That does not constitute enforcing a universal truth.

Then why say it? I think (as a mod) it would better to use the more succinct Germanic Susan Westemeyer command of "Stay on topic!" than to use anything that might be construed as "enforcing a universal truth".

Hopefully, yes. This is precisely what I was hoping Berzin would bring to the table. As you have proven over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again, anything can be presented as an argument if that is one's agenda, especially if one were to cast aside common sense or reasonable logic. But hasn't there been enough of that over the past couple of years?

News flash: The world isn't flat. But don't let that stop you.

You Godwined this thread? You, the person who perpetuates the lie that Frankie "helped Lance dope?"

You are a real piece of work Marky Mark. A real piece of work.

I'm really depreciating the fact that the mod's don't also ban the forum-ites who feed them better than a soup kitchen during Thanksgiving. Really people, if you fall for it every single time you also deserve a ban.

You lost me there.

Are you criticizing me?

Feel free to use my inbox to describe your frustration.

Dave.

Phil Anderson helped Lance race-fix, Hein helped Lance cover up positives, Motoman helped get Lance his refills, but Frankie never helped Lance dope.

If you were one of the feeders of the sockpuppets returning then yes, I lost count and didn't jot down a list.

Frankie never doped on one of Lance's teams?

Please tell me...once in a while you come across as having more brains than a tree, so I am confused, which is it, are you smarter than a tree, or not?

OK I am going to make a judgement call here.

Insinuations that Frankie "helped" Lance to dope are baiting, and borderline trolling...so close to borderline the Vopos would open fire ;)

There is no "opinion" on this particular subject. Please give it a rest.

No, MarkvW's problem is that he, like his hero Lance, is incapable of admitting when he is wrong. He is trying to say "helped Lance dope" is the same as "doped and rode on the same team" but that's nothing new for him.

OK gents, Ive called time out on the Frankie/Lance issue. Please discontinue focusing on it.

cheers

EDIT:
rather than deleting ALL the posts on this off topic subject, I've left them so others can look at them and see how nonsensical it is. One more though and they all go. tah

I see the Hog is back ruining threads, why is it that it is one rule for him and another for Joachim, it reminds me of how some riders can come back from drug suspensions and get a ride easily while others cant (those who don't toe the general clinic perceived wisdom)

That's a good question. +1

Dissension from groupthink is evidently heresy and CN has been co-opted by that, like George Stigler on the regulation of the airline industry (instead in this case it's the innuendo and slander "industry" of borderline and/or dyspeptic personalities that has captured CN, the putative "regulator" of the forum).

Ask Trent Lowe.

Yes and the Hog was never actually gone during his suspension. How often will we see Horsinabout post from now on:rolleyes:

Hell, I thought Joachim was a muppet and deserved to be banned but I don't get the double standards at all.

Also, Sittingbison is not a suitable moderator at all.

I agree with this, and also with Parrot's comments. It really is high time that we get an 'official' statement about the increasingly blatant double standards being applied to some posters who are evidently more 'favored' than others. And please, something more than a simple denial.
