Funny thing about Menchov was that he was never an attacking rider, mostly because he had the upper hand on the ITT, but he had a vicious kick he could use if needed.

His stage win in 2006 was in a similar vein, if against less renowned finishers. Just pump from 500 meters for the finish and nobody could manage to get out of his wheel.

Agree with lots of comments here, hopefully me might tell us more about his time in cycling but most likely like ullrich he will just retire quietly just like the way he rode.
