FoxxyBrown1111 said:Then they should ban everything from A to Z. Cheating in science, politics, business, by historicans... the entire German team that will win the WC tomorrow is led by Dr Müller-Wohlfahrt who openly praises Actovegin... who treats another all time doper (Bolt)... who makes "miracle healing" on injured players within 3 days.
Get over it, that´s life, full of corruption & cheating... and the UCI is one of the less rotten organisations. At least they do a little bit.
MarkvW said:They do a little bit because circumstances force them to. Otherwise, riders would be dying all over the place, and THAT would be bad for business.
FoxxyBrown1111 said:Why do NFL and soccer players not die all over the place? Why no track stars or swimmers?...
FoxxyBrown1111 said:They (UCI) do it b/c they are forced. It don´t think it´s bad to be forced to improve. The Blatter gang on the other hand can do whatever they want, money is still flying from the sky... Cycling is doing good given the circumstances (that mankind itself is greedy, evil minded, egoistic...)

Benotti69 said:other sports are not endurance. How many sports compete for 3 weeks for a min of 5 hours a day?
Benotti69 said:Cycling is the whipping boy of the sporting world. Other sports are very happy that cycling has a bad name.
Benotti69 said:UCI are not making the right changes to combat doping. That would be bad for business in the short term and that is all business at this level cares about. Who in the sport wants to think about in 10 years time?
Sciocco said:Shame they haven't taken the 2009 Giro.
Giro 2009 GC Classification (SS from wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Giro_d%27Italia):
Original GC Podium:
1. Menchov
2. Di Luca
3. Pellizotti
If they removed Menchov, the entire original podium would be gone and Carlos Sastre would be the 2009 Giro winner. Sastre would then have two of three grand tours. Sastre also finished in second place in the Vuelta twice (2005 & 2007). Behind who? Menchov.
Leipheimer would be on the podium though...
Maybe they could clean that up along the way.
seldon71 said:If that list would be cleared from CAUGHT dopers, it would read :
1) Sastre
2) Arroyo
3) ??? Apparently Jose Serpa

FoxxyBrown1111 said:Why should they (UCI)? Everybody would try to safe business....
Who really fails here is politics (as usual). They should control sports organisations better. It´s a joke we have a pretty lame anti doping law in germany, but get billed if we go over the streets on a red ample.
OTOH, Wada is an improvement for cycling. AFIK Fifa and US sports don´t have to bother about them...

Time for the journos to earn their pay
No later than twenty (20) days after it has been determined in a hearing in accordance with Article 8 that an anti-doping rule violation has occurred,
Race Radio said:So the questions are
Did the UCI delay longer then 20 after the the hearing? If so why?
Or
Was Menchov able to use legal and political positioning to delay the hearing until recently? If so what did he do?
jens_attacks said:ivan normally would have been banned with that hilarious 2009 values
Benotti69 said:FIFA are bigger than IOC and therefore bigger than WADA. US sports not international.....
So much for transparency...luckyboy said:UCI tell Sporza that sanctions will no longer be communicated via press releases
