Talking about ugly bikes, Geox has some ugly looking TT helmets.

I actually like the Trinity. In my opinion it's the best looking TT bike.

I generally don't like the look of most TT bikes but I quite like Lampre's Wilier Twinfoil apart from the wheels..

Actually Sky's Pinarello is pretty nice too.

Don't know if anyone saw this on the CN frontpage about a week ago, but Basso's TT bike in Colorado may be one of the worst I've seen..

I actually like the Geox Fujis. Certain components and the colors make it look too busy, but the lines look wicked.

That Cannondale might be one of the worst; the top tube extending past the seatpost just looks odd, but that might have more to do wit the seatpost than frame.

I've also always liked the Shiv....the legal version.

Yeah black and white ones generally look better. And if they only have 2 or 3 colours that go well together like the white, pink and blue on the Wilier.

That S-Works does look sleek, and the lines are nice. Not that keen on the thick headtube though.

But still, why ride two different tt-bikes within such a short of time. Did he train on both? Was it mandatory, due to the fact his bike would stand out as different during the TTT?

Why risk injury from using a different make bike during such a demanding thing as a TTT? It can lead to injuries, I don't imagine him training on both models.

I'm guessing this was the idea. It didn't work obviously, as we all noticed the difference right away even when he was riding it alone. Branding it as a "Geox-TMC" instead of a Fuji or Kestrel was the mistake. Could have easily been passed off as a prototype if it didn't have the team name slapped on it.

Everyone has its own taste, as that Wilier is one of the ugliest TT bikes in my opinion (and colors dont help!).
Plus that frame is kinda sloping (correct me if wrong..) and this has been proven to not be areodynamic at all nor all those wires outside.
Never heard of Wilier doing some aero test on their bikes, beside some years ago with the HED's guy (forgot his name) but even that was done with a frame already ready for production.

Agreed. It seems like they got ride of that weird curve in the frame which was the most horrid thing for me. But hey, like you said, everybody has their own taste.

Here's another bike I really like

I think it looks amazing. Only the seatpost is ****, it should be as wide or nearly as wide as the seat tube imo.

I quite like the flamboyant colourscheme, but the bike I'm not so sure about. I feel it comes from the old school of TT bikes like some of the other Italian ones. There's a prototype of a new version about with a sort of dual crown fork. If I'm honest I think this is ******* cool.

Seatpost looks terrible, but the frame overall is ok. The brakes were integrated neatly and other details were nice.

Of course I never really know how these perform aerodynamically, so I'm just going on looks. Yes, I could look for figures online...

I thought it was one of them all black Cervelos some of the Garmin riders before I saw the Wilier name across the frame. I gotta agree, it looks damn cool.

TT-bikes, at least the top lines, aren't build to be good looking. If you like curved tubes, you're out of luck, they are just not aerodynamic enough. Some paint jobs are specifically done to give the illusion of curves (look closely at the green Fuji D-6 or the Kestrel 4000, both use white at the far ends of the top tube). I think they're very (wanted to say a d-word) uncomfortable as well, but there are probably riders who like them.

Imo straight and square-y bikes look much prettier than the round and sloped ones that have become so common. Generally though in my opinion, almost all those high-end bikes look fantastic in person, even if they don't look as good in photos.

The Giant is said to be a pretty damn sweet machine.
Also, it turns out that in Utah and Colorado, the Gobernacions had no TT bikes.

They rode on their normal bikes in the ITT's

I had that with the regular Giant road bikes of Rabo. I don't like them on TV, but up close they are pretty impressive to watch. But the same with TT bikes, those are just insane machines up close. Especially with a good TTist on top, steady looking, nice stylist. Wow. They even turned my GF into a live cycling watching fan (she falls asleep before the tv, but she's the first to want to go to a live event).

Ah I was looking for a photo of Cofidis' TT bike last night. Not liking the top tube dent I'm afraid.
Their 695 is one of my favourite bikes (frames) though.

And then there's the 566 with that horrible top tube, was considering getting the frame for a build but I can't get used to the look of it.

I like the ummm look:eek: of that Look TT bike also. I don't even really mind the dent in the top tube either.

I guess what I'm looking for in a TT bike is does it look fast sitting still. Some of them while aero just don't look all that fast; the Trinity for example. The Shiv and the 596 look so fast they should be tied down.

Really? I thought the Trinity especially looks like it would roll uphill on its own if you let it go. ;)

HAHA touche sir. What doesn't appeal me to me though is the straight seattube and that deep cut. It just looks a little awkward. I prefer the seattube and post leaned back a little like on a typical road bike. I'm not sure if that makes it more or less aero. I'm no physicist, just going on aesthetics alone.

If those are Giant TT bikes, they aren't the trinity. Notice the exposed front brake calipers in front of the fork. With the trinity they're hidden behind the fork.
