What does Noah Hobbs have anything to do with Visma?

"No one is saying u23 racing is easy to control" you missed this part.

Also no one is saying they should bring these breaks back, what they should not do is just give them 4 minutes before starting to chase and actually limit the damage.

We are posting about L'Avenir and not about the Visma team. My post referencing the Giro Next Gen is relevant because GB could not get a fast sprinter to one final, and if we take it further another poster mentioned that the top 4 in that race got time from breakaways. Anyway, these bif under 23 races need bigger teams.

It is the same principle. five rider teams could not bring back the break on flatter stages.

Can you show me towards the actual flat stage in the Giro? Like said before, u23 racing is unpredictable and harder to control, not only because you only have 5 domestiques, but also because these domestiques are often not all a pretty high level. BUT this years Giro simply didn't have an easy to control stage. Every stage had a mountain in the middle or some hills making it way harder to control. That was the reason why so many breaks went and sticked.

It still gets back to the fact it is hard to control stages with 5 riders. If we are serious these big development races have 7 or 8 rider teams.

Turconi was bad (or didn’t try?) in the upphill prologue, so maybe Italy doesn’t believe he will be relevant anyway and therefore were more worried about Decomble and Dalby?
Turconi had an intense race schedule up to early July, 40-odd days with about half of those at pro level, which is quite a lot for a 19 year old. His results have been a lot worse since, maybe understandably, so I think Italy know that he won't feature in the hardest stages other than as a domestique for Finn.

The KOM leader has one of those amazing "how many c's, and s's and z's can we put in a row?" Polish names
