You think it’s ok to call someone ***?Jagartrott said:All the Anglo's on the cyclingnews main page comments going banana's over the (translated) '***' - calling for suspension and whatnot. FFS. Get over yourselves.
It just shows the r-word has some connotations in English that are missing in other languages and they're judging everyone with their own local standards.Jagartrott said:All the Anglo's on the cyclingnews main page comments going banana's over the (translated) '***' - calling for suspension and whatnot. Too many people on this forum are happy to use that work to describe a rider or a ride, it shouldn’t be allowedice&fire said:It just shows the r-word has some connotations in English that are missing in other languages and they're judging everyone with their own local standards.Jagartrott said:All the Anglo's on the cyclingnews main page comments going banana's over the (translated) '***' - calling for suspension and whatnot. Honestly, I hear that word all the time and no one bats an eye but typically it's around a group of close friends. Not saying it's a great word to use but not everyone has their pc hat on all the time and it's sometimes hard to keep track of what's become offensive.rick james said:You think it’s ok to call someone ***?Jagartrott said:All the Anglo's on the cyclingnews main page comments going banana's over the (translated) '***' - calling for suspension and whatnot. People cared when he rode away today, at least Astana did. If Lopez had the legs he would have followed, he rode away in a difficult section and brute forced away IMO, despite 3-4 guys probably could have followed initially, but lets be honest: He was super strong.Rollthedice said:All nice and good until somebody will actually care when he attacks. Now they will but Carapaz is in a good position also.
Agree 100%. Of course, that can (and probably will) change.Forever The Best said:Eh, I think Landa was stronger than everyone from the group he attacked except Carapaz. Zakarin, Carapaz and Landa were the 3 strongest today I'd say.

They were only going to let him go, with a long(ish) range attack. Had he waited like Carapaz, they would very likely have reacted (or at least it's safe to assume that was his reasoning for chosing to go from far). An attack like that is always a gamble and you can never sustain that effort all the way through. In fact, he lost 30 seconds in the final 3k compared to Zakarin. So it's safe to say, had Carapaz attacked from far, and had Landa waited like Carapaz did, that the result would have been reversed.Brullnux said:Landa wasn’t the strongest climber today, soz. It was an impressive effort but he gained, what, 30s to the joints effort of Ciccone and Zakarin over 12k? With the help of teammates for the first 6 too. After the first km of going solo he started to lose time to an inspired zakarin. His style just makes him seem like he’s going that bit faster, but genuinely, Carapaz’s performance was more impressive.
