All the Anglo's on the cyclingnews main page comments going banana's over the (translated) '***' - calling for suspension and whatnot. FFS. Get over yourselves.
It just shows the r-word has some connotations in English that are missing in other languages and they're judging everyone with their own local standards.

Too many people on this forum are happy to use that work to describe a rider or a ride, it shouldn’t be allowed

He has no class ....Froome, Dumoulin nor Nibali would never talk like that on camera ..its a fact and maybe why he will never be a champion ..no perspective

To be fair he didn't say it on camera but was stupid enough to say it to a journalist.

A bit of an over reaction from most people to what he said in my opinion. Not everyone has their political correctness hat on all the time. Not the best thing to have said but not the worst either. No doubt the anglo commentators on Eurosport will be given him a bashing as his anger was directed at Saint Simon.

Lol, your examples maybe are not the best ones, Nibali even threw a bottle on Froome during the Tour stage. Froome also didn't showed much class in his feud with Wiggins, and Tom Dumoulin is known in this forum as "Big Mouth"

You think it’s ok to call someone ***?
Honestly, I hear that word all the time and no one bats an eye but typically it's around a group of close friends. Not saying it's a great word to use but not everyone has their pc hat on all the time and it's sometimes hard to keep track of what's become offensive.

Nice to see the Landa we've been expecting to see show up today. Great ride. He said he'll keep doing the same thing as long as he has the legs to try. One other note is that he made sure to thank his teammates for their work today.

All nice and good until somebody will actually care when he attacks. Now they will but Carapaz is in a good position also.
People cared when he rode away today, at least Astana did. If Lopez had the legs he would have followed, he rode away in a difficult section and brute forced away IMO, despite 3-4 guys probably could have followed initially, but lets be honest: He was super strong.

I'm starting to understand Blanco now. I won't say Landa will win this Giro, but he certainly can win this Giro. In these last two days he was amazing to watch on the climbs.

Yeah, I stated that strongest climber will win this Giro, and my opinion is that Landa is going to be that man, no matter his time deficit. The guy, when on form, is really magnificent climber. Tomorrow he's going to be a little conservative, maybe, because of today's effort, he'll not go early I think, but San Carlo will sort things out anyway. But where I expect him to be on top of his game is Gavia/Mortirolo stage.

Landa wasn’t the strongest climber today, soz. It was an impressive effort but he gained, what, 30s to the joints effort of Ciccone and Zakarin over 12k? With the help of teammates for the first 6 too. After the first km of going solo he started to lose time to an inspired zakarin. His style just makes him seem like he’s going that bit faster, but genuinely, Carapaz’s performance was more impressive.

They were only going to let him go, with a long(ish) range attack. Had he waited like Carapaz, they would very likely have reacted (or at least it's safe to assume that was his reasoning for chosing to go from far). An attack like that is always a gamble and you can never sustain that effort all the way through. In fact, he lost 30 seconds in the final 3k compared to Zakarin. So it's safe to say, had Carapaz attacked from far, and had Landa waited like Carapaz did, that the result would have been reversed.

I think his attack was brutal, and nobody could collow. Nibali and Lopez certainly had every reason to try and stay with him considering Yates was suffering and Roglic hadn't bridged yet. But they didn't.

He suffered badly in the last couple of kms, which is understandable.
