Demare never actually won MSR thoughPeople saying a sprinter won... Philipsen is much more than that by now. Not comparable in any way to the run of actual sprinter wins up until Démare.

I doubt if anyone has ever rated him in descendingPogi is also overrated in a downhill.
He needs Colombo's train.Teddy saying it wasn't hard enough for him to win...this is getting farcical...
What's the point of watching this sport everytime you get excited and the villain always wins , I hate sprinters , I'm no longer watching cycling after this. That guy in the Pogacar thread was the real charlatan all along!!!!
"He was moving naturally to his left", what does that even mean, lol? So because he had to overtake Stuyven on the left, he has carte blanche to continue diagonally all the way across the road?He didn't have to deviate that much lol. He was moving naturally to his left but he then moved back to make way for Philipsen.
Organisers might have relegated him anyway to have Pog win tho
He's solid, but in Milano Sanremo the guys he's most likely to have to hold off on the Poggio descent are better than him.Pogacar’s weakness downhill has been talked about a lot the last few years to the point where I’d say it’s actually overstated quite often. Like he’s no Pidcock or Mohoric but he’s also not that bad.
Pogacar was very smart in the second attack. He did everything he could.Pogacar has no strategy apart from "have 50 more watts than everyone else" and it showed today
Two moments were the race was fully on and risks were taken.Well, he went off the road in the TdF in 2022, and in 2023 TdF ITT Jonas put big time on his last year taking the downhill corners much faster.
How so? I think this is a dig at part of his team, and rightfully so. Ulissi and Hirschi stole money today.Teddy saying it wasn't hard enough for him to win...this is getting farcical...
2016 never happened.Demare never actually won MSR though
When you launch you take your lane, but actually went back to open the door to the door for Philipsen again."He was moving naturally to his left", what does that even mean, lol? The whole team was pinched into corners and out of position going into the cipressa. They had to go hot just to reconstitute. And the favorites just watched them racing back by them to get that position back. Too cooked too late to force a selection. If a guy like philipsen makes it past those efforts it wasn’t good enough to say the leastI wonder what the strategy could have been though other than making it hard which the team failed at. He couldn't drop the others on the short 8% section of Poggio, so set up and did an attack that actually gapped everyone bar MvdP. So tactically played well.
In order of team tactics - I wonder if knowing you have a weak team, driving it from 50km out was wise, or maybe they should have waited all along for Cipressa. But easy in hindsight.
He is totally right though. Mohoric also just confirmed.Teddy saying it wasn't hard enough for him to win...this is getting farcical...

Context is needed.
And comparing him to someone who is really great at to say he is bad, is not a very good thing to either.
Either way, he is not one of the worst at it or "bad". I would say he is good at it... while guys like Pidcock, Mohoric and so on are really GREAT at it.
Some people never learn.A very satisfying finale. Sanremo proves again that after all the focus being on the top-2 favourites, several others were in play and a third one won.
Maybe saying he is "bad" is just poor choice of words, which is all I am saying.I don't think anyone is saying he's overrated, and no one is saying he's the worst.
This, Matthews blew it by creating additional space for Philipsen to overtake him. When you launch you take your lane, but actually went back to open the door to the door for Philipsen again.
