I will never forget, that beautiful period of 15 seconds, when I believed that Matteo sobrero was going to win Milano Sanremo with the perfect attack.
As opposed the the well founded hope that the breakaway has had in this race every other year?

The Great Fausto would've done it! Too bad he's dead since 1960.
If I was off the front in the final kilometre at Sanremo I would probably do the same.He was looking behind too much instead of pushing the pedals, but he probably wouldn't have made it even if Pidcock hadn't started a long sprint.

You seem to remember it like it was yesterday.I will never forget, that beautiful period of 15 seconds, when I believed that Matteo sobrero was going to win Milano Sanremo with the perfect attack.
Our grande Fausto is back in training after his bronchitis from Tirreno adriatico. If Pogacar wants to go from the Turchino in 2025, he will have an ally in FaustoThe Great Fausto would've done it!
True. I am a wheelsucker by nature.Colossal if.
Yesterday's effort was similar to 2022. Except that 2022 had a slower pace at the beginning.Interesting! In 2022, Mohoric’s ride seemed crazy. Now almost all went substantially faster…
Pidcock would have caught him on the descent anyway. We know this because he did that. Mvdps surge didn't have anything to do with it.Pogacar could have won if it wasn't for MVDP I think. No one else bothered to respond. Same for Mohoric, he also could have won if not for Mathieu reeling him back in.

That makes no sense unless Mohoric stopped to take a piss on top of the Poggio in 2022.Yesterday's effort was similar to 2022. Except that 2022 had a slower pace at the beginning.

Don't trust Strava segments there. Use video and stopwatch. That makes no sense unless Mohoric stopped to take a piss on top of the Poggio in 2022.
VdP a little bit overrated on the descents, recall him being hard dropped on a mountain descent by Gijs Leemreize in the 2022 Giro, Stage 17 perhaps.
Yeah that's what I figured. Looked like he was losing 1s per second at the start of that graphDon't trust Strava segments there. Use video and stopwatch.

It was kind of hard to ignore Plapp since he was right in front of the camera every time they showed the back of the peloton.4 minor, but unaddressed, issues from yesterday:
1) Was there ever an explanation of why Gemani dropped out of the breakaway? Kung couldn't cope without him? Rest of the break thought they wouldn't be given a chance with such a big threat up the road and bullied him into dropping?
2) Should RCS/RAI not hire somebody who actually speaks English to translate their tourist information at the bottom of the screen: they used a trained and very old fashioned tone.
3) How decisive was Pidcock's relieving himself at 17km to go?
4) Has any rider ever received such a disproportionate number of commentary mentions to impact on race as Luke Plapp? Was the TV producer a family member?
He was busy bunny hopping that sunken drain grate at the top of the Poggio. Quite memorable. That makes no sense unless Mohoric stopped to take a piss on top of the Poggio in 2022.

True, but I didn’t think that was up to the commentators? They didn't really have to show the back of the peloton half of the times.
