How likely is a scenario that Pog attacks on Cipressa with a few other strong guys and they cooperate till Poggio? Would anyone want to work or would they all simply wheelsuck then? Imagine Pogi + Ganna early attack.
Unless they have a rider in group behind I can see them work with him. If you would get a group of the 5 top favourites. Pogi, MVDP, Ganna, Pedersen, and Pidcock. I think all of them would work together besides MVDP if Philipsen is in the group behind them.

But that doesn’t mean those other riders would even choose to follow on Cipressa (of course everyone tries to follow on Poggio) except perhaps MVDP. The others might rather let their teams keep them close until the Poggio. Even strong riders might think they have better odds of winning (I.e., in a finishing sprint) by staying in the main group and catching Pog before the Poggio than they would by going into the red to follow and then ride for in a 3-4 person group with Pog from which he will launch multiple attacks.

If there´s a group of 40 riders 30" back at the start of the flat between Cipressa and Poggio, how many of them will really work to reel him in? How long will it take before that cooperation will run smoothly? And how much time can they take back on one of the best tt´ers of the field?
Having 30" on the Cipressa is a lot.
First of all, they would be 30’ back at the top of the Cipressa so will have the descent and the flat to chase him down. Although 30’ to Pogacar would indeed be tough, but don’t know that he can creat that big a gap on a shallow climb.
As for who will chase:: certainly everyone on the sprinter’s teams will be all in.

Read matxin believes a sub 9 cipressa will yield no more than 20 for the chase and finish if the race. Out of this number will be very few able and willing to drag everyone to pog.
