Being very liberal in the way I read the rules, I also don't think any mod would see it as rule breaking if one wrote: Pakistan instead of ****stan.

And here we have a mod flouting a genuine rule (not circumventing language filters) while a thread is locked with no obvious rule violations. Which rule does the thread violate dearest mods?
Hold on, don't go hunting a rare and endangered species. The mod with the sense of humour deserves our protection. There's only a couple of them. The rest are dodos.

The lid needed to be closed, and you should appreciate that someone flushed it for you. You may think that a toilet paper discussion is all the same on the hole.
But someone could have used that thread to dump on others or used it to take the p!ss.

Thanks Mas for starting my day with a big laugh and long smile :D

It was inappropriate because I found out that I like to tend to my backside in the same manner as ACF94. I don't come to this cycling forum to learn of such atrocities. This is an over and classic case of moderation where none is needed. And it made an ass wipe out of the poor moderator who contributed to the harmless thread before it was closed.

Boomcie - nice to know you brother, but you crossed the line when you insulted the kitty. Your days are numbered!
LOL, nothing inappropriate about looking after your backside like me.

That thread was considered inappropriate (and not just by me).

Who do we see to overthrow this dictatorship called CN Forum? Can we have an election and have opposing candidates who have different platforms on the way we should run the forum? I say we need a more laissez faire approach.

So I've only just returned to this hell hole and I'm already receiving unfair treatment by the mod(s)… If anyone would be so kind as to point out the inappropriate passage in a thread about TOILET PAPER ORIENTATION, I would greatly appreciate it.

It’s absolutely disgraceful that you greet me back into your narrow minded little community by shutting down the first thing I produce. How ridiculous would it be if every thread that the faint-hearted deems inappropriate has to be closed on the spot?

As long as I’m behaving decently, I would not like to be harassed by you or any of your minions.

A discussion about toilet paper orientation is not inappropriate. I will now wait for you to overturn your decision (which you won’t, because you should never give in to a terrorist’s demands)

Guess my days are numbered again. Go ahead, crush me with your almighty boot.

I was treated like a friggin' leper upon my return, but refuse to be muzzled by an oppressive regime.

Shame on you.

Why has my thread 'Order of comments on articles' been moved from the cafe to the About the website section of the forum?
My post has absolutely nothing to do with the website. It seems to be a very strange decision, a total mistake.

And here I thought it had everything to do with the website -- where the articles appear.......

Susan

I was not talking about articles on cyclingnews. I was talking about articles and other things on websites in general. I referred to youtube, nothing to do with cyclingnews, and BBC Sport, again nothing to do with cyclingnews.
I have no idea how the commenting on articles on cyclingnews works because I have never bothered to read comments on cyclingnews articles. I just read articles and come to the forum. If my comments apply to the commenting system on cyclingnews articles it is an incidental coincidence.
Please move the thread back.

Let it be. I no longer give a rat’s a$$. It’s not about some stupid thread anymore, I wouldn't even post in it if it was reopened now. I’m not a puppet.

I know there are some good up and coming moderators out there. I know they aren't too high and mighty to engage in a conversation and treat users with the respect they deserve.

Don’t put up with injustice, don’t be intimidated and don’t be muzzled by an oligarchic authority.

Boomcie probably could have gotten his point across without the insults, but it would have been a lot easier if Susan had just admitted she was wrong about closing the thread, or even if she had just explained why the thread was inappropriate.

Doesn't seem that awful to me. but yes it wasn't pretty.

By the way boomcie says he wanted the ban because cn is a **** hole :D

The mods were unanimous that the PM was more than sufficient cause for a ban.

Perhaps I should have handled the situation differently. But there is no doubt in my mind that Boomcie most definitely should have reacted differently, and it could be said that s/he invited the ban.

I have redacted several personal insults from boomcies last two posts Flo, but as Parrulo said it was unsavoury insults in a PM that led to boomcies ban

Let me see. I'd like to find some ground, first, where we agree. I will agree that Boomcie
probably could have gotten (sic) the point across without the insults
. And, yeah, there was some uncalled for nasty stuff that got redacted.

But on the rest? Well, you can see the insults that remain. There are still personal attacks against CN, Susan, and the mods in his posts - we just took out the worst of it. List your top five curse words - ones that set you off in a discussion. Insert at will. Now, ask yourself if we need that for a discussion. Are you so limited in ability to write that you must curse to be emphatic? Does it even make a point, other than trying to anger the other people in the discussion?

As for a bathroom humor thread - ask yourself the same question. Why do we need it here? This is a cycling forum. What does bathroom humor have to do with that? For bathroom humor, maybe there is a South Park forum.

Please - be a little more realistic. Was Susan wrong? Not from where I'm standing. Should boomcie NOT have been banned? He/she broke more rules than a force 5 tornado. We have two things from one person - attacking, vile, cursing rants - and a humor (purported) thread that is not only way off base for the forum, but likely to lead into a thread that will require more mod time than the Clinic.

To be fair to the boomsie, that topic was as informing as most of the professional road race section. But that could be just my opinion.
