No netserk I mean do the non bolded mods still contribute to the moderation behind the scenes.
Last activity = when was the last time they logged in.

It's been since February for most of them.

A member writes multiple times "BAN HER!!!!!!" (yes in caps) because they think another member called them racist. This is okay.

Yet it is not okay for members to ask the mods to do something about a troll.

:)

Great example of **** moderation.

An image in one of the race threads has a watermark on it from another forum, assumedly to prevent hotlinking or bandwidth stealing.

Moderators response in the thread

Parrulo said:
Oh the good people of Velorooms taking credit for someone else's work, in this case ASO,

Exactly, pathetic really

Of course, what you should have done as a moderator, instead of calling another site pathetic, and going totally off topic in a thread, you could have just found the original copy of the map on the ASO website and replaced the image in the first post with an image not hosted by another forum, instead of acting like a ****er. ;)

But no, take the off thread off topic, criticize another website. Much better example to set.

They didn't ask you to go to their website, and hotlink to their images.

2500 views of this thread, the image is 1.66mb - Thats 4gb of bandwidth you have used from them. And you are complaining about a watermark rather than just replacing the image with one not hosted by them on their server.

(Funnily enough, Velorooms have a rule that you are'nt allowed to criticise this forum, yet here, it's ok)

Who cares if that's Parrulo's opinion of it or of them? It's his opinion, and it's not really a "moderator" response anyways. So it's not a very good example of *** moderation. Your making a mountain out of a molehill here TheGame.

I just used their image cause it was easier and quicker then taking screen shot of the map, uploading it, and doing any size correction.

To be honest, It's a non issue. They watermark images, which is their right to do, it's really not a big deal, and it was only a small watermark. I don't suppose they care about the bandwidth, and I don't suppose people here care about the watermark. There's far more exciting things to be talking about like the Tour.

Don't think Parullo should be calling them pathetic though when it's their right to do that.

I'm sure Parrulo will warn himself for being off topic.

I don't think the issue is you hotlinking the image Anne, it's more Parrulo misunderstanding the reason why websites watermark images and insulting VR because of it.

Insulting them he could have done without, I agree. But one point that should be brought up about that, over on Velorooms at the moment you and Dim are insulting him by calling him an awful mod and a "tool." So how is one side really different or any better then the other at the moment?

Well I've made my views on Parrulo clear on here as well but the difference is that my opinion is based on what he posted whereas his opinions were based on ignorance of why a website would do something.

Parrulo is spot on. Velorooms can have their own crap on their own forums. It shouldn't be posted on a rival forum.

I like how the rival forum-ites got all bent yet are here :D
Sounds like a solid forum :D

I am a member of some very questionable forums where I have seen poor moderating at its best but judging by having read the last 20 pages of this thread I reckon CN takes the cake!

That shows a remarkable misunderstanding of who 'owns' the image and why AFrank posted it here, even for you. And what's this crap about "rival" forums? Are you going to organize a drive-by of the Velorooms clubhouse because their members didn't want to chat with you?

Easy, Veloroom is "the friendly forum". They are clearly morally superior to anyone on this forum. When they insult people, they do so nicely.

It should be obvious that none of the above has anything to do with either CN or Velorooms. It is about how some individuals choose to behave.

I hang out on both VR and CN and last time I checked, there was no problem with that. But then, I am not polluting this thread and others with inflammatory remarks designed to **** off easy targets.

Frankly, I am sick of reading this stuff. Dressing up one's own grievances and conflicts as some sort of ridiculous inter-forum rivalry is both provocative and incredibly selfish.

Agreed, it does seem rather strange and I'm not sure I understand the childishness of certain people in continually talking up other forums which are only a click away. If you prefer that forum then use that forum, or use both, but stop acting that you have some form of exclusivity, they’re both open and free for all and if users wanted to be at another forum then they would be.

Lulz at TheGame

Why do you only accuse Parrulo of posting OT, when he wasn't the one who started it. Seems like someone is obsessed with mods
