Yeah, I recall now. I thought they meant he was banned as a mod, not a poster. I couldn't recall any mod being banned.

I think you are correct - I don't think any active mod has ever been banned. Not 100% sure - but remember, I went back through a hell of a lot of posts doing my research. Learned a lot of history, with maybe only marginal usefulness!

Who knows, maybe other ex-mods will end up banned! Never can tell what the future will bring.

He posted after he'd been banned. That was his mortal offense.

...isn't that what discussion boards are for? Surely it was a content improvement over the previous banter?....

Dr. Maserati said:
...But all kinds of crazy could break out - you may have forced the other person to address your points, put up a well thought out reply to counter or correct your excellent points.
This then may have had you coming up with another reply....

Yes discussion boards are for discussing. And you both know full well I do not hinder discussion for the sake of hindrance or my own personal ideals.

In this instance although the banter from the genuine contributors may have improved, the content was a rehash elicited by trolling. And I know you are being facetious here DrMas, there was not the slightest chance of the bolded happening...which was the actual problem.

You brought it up here - that was your choice.

This is just a yes or no, do you have new, pertinent info?
If you have then you share it, here would be best.

So your new thread was just a stunt? You will continue to do what you previously did, instead of putting your OT response in your new thread?

If you noticed, I said yes or no.
It was an attempt at finality or addressing the key point, the response was OT, as the initial post was OT.
If the discussion continued to be rehashed, then the new thread would be the next place to go.

Just like this side discussion - you asked, I answered.
My answer should address what you wrote (which is OT). Its giving the benefit that you just made an error. Its also using a little common sense.
So, if you have any further (OT) points, we can take it to the new thread.

So it's a thread where anyone else responding to your OT posts should post their response, whereas you'll just continue with what you've always done?

Sounds like double standards.

In the absence of new information, where every acceleration by Sky will be viewed as suspicious, then repetition will always happen.
Thats how it works.

If that poster (or any poster) is 'trolling' then address the trolling aspect.
If the argument is circular, its because it is circular.

I just got an "infraction" by a mod for voicing my opinion on Contador. What BS. I'll post what I said and allow others to see what i got the infraction for if you want. It wasn't anything offensive, just my opinion, yet that warrants 10 points, explain?

So, what do you guys think?

Did you call him a large colon? It is totally ok to call other posts a large Colon. Lair is also cool.

Did you post it already, or am I missing something?

I think it was a clinic post in RR about how he should retire because if he wins something major everyone would know he's doping.

To be honest - it wasn't about Contador, but you brought up Clinic matter is the RR section. 10 points? Thats actually the way to sort it.

There is plenty of space in The Clinic if you have an opinion on AC.

Then send me a PM and say that("next time, you'll get this"), that would've been more apropriate IMO.......I would've gotten the hint. Also, the Thread was about Contador...

You are allowed to doping inuendo only if its about Froome/Sky , like this

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?p=1402560&highlight=wada#post1402560

(btw that was a reported post)

If you do that in relation with non-Sky riders you get infractions.

Thats a joke (and a pretty good one) - the other was a direct reference which could lead to a reply or discussion.

And perhaps that poster got 10 points also.
I highlight when the mods over react (which is fine, as most are human, :p ) but this was a gentle reminder to what is an obvious point.

the infraction system is now primarily used to send a message direct from a mod, it includes the offending posts. The points don't really mean anything. I usually use "other" and apply zero points, however there are allocated points for a couple of automatic issues.... Doping talk outside clinic being one.

How many points does calling another poster a "Large Colon" earn?
