Nothing really that requires a mod message to get back on topic. The things being discussed in it recently among other things were if there are any other riders with as big and sudden a breakthrough as Froome and Cound and her tweets (Froome thread is as good a place as any to discuss his fiance).

But maybe it is, indeed, time to move past Cound (unless she enters the thread again herself). At a glance, the thread is still littered with accusations and reactions to suggestions of rape. I'm certain we can find more appropriate and cycling-related topics to debate and discuss.

You see, some people (RHD for instance) prefer to think not all riders, or most, are ******bags who will do everything to win. And I think she's right.
I followed this discussion, they probably need to be their own thread. My two bits - isn't this just a re-hash of the old 'nice guys don't dope' argument?

the sane poster to skybot ratio is getting out of control in the clinic.

someone needs to do something before it becomes unreadable. I suggest bringing back the Hog.

i guess you are on the sane side

what about posting baiting like this from a fellow sane clinician:

what makes him (Bruyneel) worse than, say, a david brailsford?

Can you outline what moderation you think should have taken place? I ask because I get the feeling you don't understand the site rules and guidelines very well, and I'm trying to help.

As a mod I would have taken no action had that post been reported.

Do I think the statement is accurate? No. Do I agree with it? No. Is it intended to provoke anyone? No intent that I can see, but I would monitor the thread because if it was reported, someone is taking offense and might retaliate in an unsavory way.

If someone responded by asking how that comparison was relevant or by stating clearly why they don't think it was relevant, or that comparing Brailsford to Bruyneel at this point is rather over the top, then the point could be made without any further nonsense.

But there simply isn't anything to moderate there IMO.

That said, sometimes reporting a post and saying something like "This is getting a bit testy", or "You all might want to watch this thread as some fairly outrageous statements are being made", would go a long way to helping the mods curate the site.

Reporting and saying "This is trolling!" or "This person should be banned!" might get the mods to watch the thread and it might get them to think the reporter was someone crying wolf.

The measured reaction usually works better in the long run. IMO.

If this is not baiting than baiting does not exist and just is a buggy rule to help mods ban the people they don't like.

And thanks, my next topic will be why Contador is worse than Armstrong. Maybe its the other way around ? If its not baiting lets make 1000 posts debating.

Enache, that's not baiting. That's red_flanders explaining to you why to him and according to his understanding of the forum rules, the post you reported is precisely not baiting or doesn't need moderation.

Instead of shouting 'Baiting', why don't you explain why you think the posts you report are indeed baiting? By explaining your point, you increase the odds of any mod actually giving you reason.

Like red_flanders, I'm just trying to help.

Edit: With 'this', where you reffering to red_flander's post you quoted or the one he answered to?

Three months is a bit too much though. :(

Hope he doesn't quit and comes after his ban ends, at least by the start of Le Tour. We need posters.

No we don't. But I can't call him a troll because I've never seen him troll anyone. What I've seen is him trying to make a point about Contador suchlike others do about Froome or Sky. But that's just what I've seen.

Ironically, he was banned for insulting the staff and not for trolling.

It seems a bit harsh unless you compare it to Dr.M's perma-ban. Not only was Dr.M's language more temperate, he actually had a good point, Berzin was following him around and effing with his posts.

Enache is the most obvious troll since Bpc registered under the username "trolls".

I'm not convinced Enache was all about the trolling, he seemed too emotionally invested. An outrageous outburst like this was on the cards for a while now IMO.

Remember back when the forum decided mods needed to give extra attention to the Lance & Floyd threads, and mods would read there daily so they could nip stuff in the bud with a timely warning to keep the thread on track?

That probably needs to be happening with the Sky clinic threads.
