Giving fleur any sort of power is quite the red flag my boys. If you did it for a poster with an outstanding reputation i give you the benefit of the doubt even though still.
But you didn't, you gave it fo fleur (even though you backtrack now). The person who has bullied many people on the contador thread for disagreeing with her.
If you think i'm making this up, ask hitch for example and there are many others.
I'm just saying.
I'm not going to explain the same thing over and over, please read above.
Maxiton said:Basically this thread was started by LaFlorecita so that she would have a single place for Contador love. But you can put Contador hate here, too (at the risk of her wrath!), or something in the middle. If in doubt about whether it should go here, ask LaFlorecita, she'll know.

So a mod is making a joke in an official statement? I don't see the joke even, care to explain

Official statement?! Some of you really need to take a chill pill.
Good luck new mods...

Thanks for the contribution, hopefully he won't threaten you to go on a vacation from the forum too![]()

When people then continued asking what they could post in the thread, I said if in doubt ask LaFlorecita. I said this in order to indicate that she has our support, just as you have our support when somebody tries to troll you. The polite efforts of LaFlorecita and others to keep order in the thread have not gone unnoticed, and the trolling hasn't gone unnoticed, either.
I have been following and joining the discussion and I haven't really seen anyone troll the thread, we mainly discussed Froome v Contador. If anyone trolled anybody, it would be some of the fanatic fanboys in that same thread. Maybe trolling is a bad wording, its rather all hell loose and I don't think the 'opposing' debaters should take responsible for that. The thread is as much the Contador-fans as it is a thread for anyone else wanting to discuss Contador, but I think the moderators and the forum in general fails to realise that sometimes
No, Miburo. I don't have any special powers. You just misunderstood Maxiton's post.Miburo said:Making Maxiton a mod is gonna bit you in the ***. You'll see, you can't stop the flow of time.

either way, somebody who tries to shut down discussion like tonton has done on various occasions (not just lemond thread) should probably not be a mod...of a discussion forum.
just my two cents.
in the end it's all a matter of taste, and tonton will do a fine job no doubt.![]()
are you sure?Maxiton said:...
For what it's worth, my interactions with him have always been fine. He has strong opinions because he is old school European cycling. Strong opinions often come across as "trying to shut you down" but usually if you come back with a well reasoned reply based on knowledge, you find, as I have with Ton-Ton, a receptive ear and engaging conversation.
For all intents and purposes, that's a bait/troll post right there. But regardless, I've gotten used to those in the Lemond threadTonton said:sniper, are you saying that you didn't know that mitochondria myopathy was at the time the explanation leading to his retirement? And yes, this is listed just about everywhere on articles, biographies...Wow! You're all over this thread, rehashing the same rubbish and don't know the basic info? Tell me it ain't so.
Now, i don't know if that reply of mine counts as 'a well reasoned reply based on knowledge', but in any case you kindly told mesniper said:...
yes, that's what i'm saying.
Lemond is (well) before my time. I was still climbing trees and playing with lego when he retired.

snipped for brevity
Unfortunately however, I never heard from tonton again. So much for that receptive ear and engaging conversation.Maxiton said:...Good comeback, and great summary. ...
This i don't doubt. Respect for anybody who signs up for that.I think he's a strong addition to the mod team.

So that 'engaging conversation' started here:

Tonton said:I came across the last exchanges. I will say for the record that I don't take my new responsibilities lightly. Thank you sniper for recognizing that. Today, I'm going through all the threads in the mods folders to educate myself. When I do something, I try my best to be good at it. This is no exception. I see my new role as a way to give back to a website that has re-ignited my passion for cycling. Or rather, brought my passion to another level.
I truly enjoy the educated takes, I learn a great deal, and I don't mind heated debates as long as we all remain respectful. I think that I emphasize the latter point very often. Where there are fans, where there's passion, we can't all agree: but we shouldn't turn into hooligans either. I spent two years reading posts, not willing to become a member because of the Lance-era toxicity that spread through the forums. I didn't want to start posting my views and get bludgeoned. Not right...
It is true that at times (but not often), I found myself participating in trench warfare (when two camps fight over an issue, not willing to engage in a real conversation). By accepting to be a mod, I am aware that it entails staying away from controversy. But also ensuring that we can have troll-free discussions, that we can agree to disagree, as long as we do so respectfully.
I will do my utmost to be fair, consistent, and I embrace the feed-back that you all give me. Good or bad. It's called "accountability". Nothing wrong with that.
As it says in the suspension thread, miburo was banned for trolling.Valv.Piti said:Who did Miburo upset?
