Think the Members Suspension/Appreciation thread is important.

Needs to be modded like everything else.

I think it is good that posters have a chance to publicly express an opinion on others. It cna be healthy for the forum.

We've had to remove more comments from that thread than almost any other thread that I can think of right now.

It became a "Members trolling each other" thread more than it was anything else.

As soon as members realise if they mispost in it a ban follows things will settle and it will be fit for purpose. :)

We're just going to stick with this thread for feedback about moderation.

Cheers

Why did my post had to be deleted? The one where I said Cound's fat shaming and Froome being married with Cound tells about Froome's character as well?
Or the part where I criticized LaFlorecita of body shaming?

Bad moderation imo.
Any responses?
I think many posts on the subject were deleted because they were off topic.
easy for you to say after you have padded up to 30k? Us measly peasants have goals of 10k
Surprised you have never been banned considering your join date and the percentage of post's per day.

bandwidth. and waste.
reduce, reuse, recycle and replace should be something practiced in many cases.

One of the better ones: viewtopic.php?p=993937#p993937 :D

+2

Maybe the power structure can assign the mod duties to Alpe d'Huez.

Off-topic postings will from now on be deleted.

Thank you.

In this thread or universally?
She was inferring to the off-topic comments that were being posted in this particular thread, but anytime a comment is posted off-topic it runs the risk of being deleted to keep threads from getting clogged up with unnecessary chit chat and also to keep threads from veering off course into other topics of discussion that may be taking place in the same forum.

It always helps mods keep a conversation flowing to flag off-topic posts.

I'm not saying that you do or don't already do that because I normally don't keep track of who's reporting what unless they're abusing the report system.

I'd just like to remind everyone reading this that mods are human, and need help from the general membership of this forum to help make it run smoothly.

Cheers :)

I know it will never happen, but I'd get a huge kick out of reading a forum member complaint thread.
That would be even more fun than reading the member suspension thread.
I'm curious to know who reports messages and why they do so. I get it when someone alerts a mod to someone who has clearly gone all cray cray, but I suspect a lot of reports are of a petty nature-- i.e. someone hurt my feelings, and/or I don't like what so and so had to say and they said it in the wrong thread. Seriously, who would take time to report something so silly?
I guess I'm saying that one day I want to be a mod. I want to read the complaints for comedic purposes. Please keep me in mind.
I can't think of anyone who will give me a good reference, but I'll work on it.

I think the above just excluded you as moderator material :D

The reports that are filed are almost always about a forum rule violation. It's very rare, if ever that we get a report about something that you've described above.

Was the music thread locked because a couple of individuals couldn't behave themselves or is there something else going on? I don't post there, but it's a shame that people who truly contributed to that thread can't share favorite songs.....

I'm about to ask the same thing.

If I can't post this in the music thread...

Back in the Saddle Again - Aerosmith

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIPS4LyveJs

I know, way too overplayed by me, but today was the first time dad and I went out for a bicycle ride together since his heart attack earlier this summer. While we went only about 5k at about 10km/h I thought he did really well, I'm actually kinda proud of him. (Made sure he had his nitro pills with him, naturally, that stuff he'll have to carry around with him for the rest of his life.)

... where else should I be posting it? :(

I'm glad you're dad is getting out on a bike to get back in shape.

The music thread is temporarily closed and will be opened soon enough.

Thanks for the nice words guys.

Though I'm not going to delete my account or anything, you probably won't be seeing much of me around here anymore. I did my best, but I guess that wasn't good enough.

Nope. Your modding is what this forum needed, which stands in stark contrast to what the forum has.

I'm thinking the current mod team should take a six month break.. and then quit altogether.

I guess running off Semper Fi is the next best thing. What are we up to... 1,000 arm curls a day?

Semper wasn't being forced out, but if posters are going to start questioning mental health and abusing people then your going to get banned, no matter who you are.
