I noticed some mods/admins/whatever warned some users via the Visitor Message which can be seen by everybody. Isn't it more appropriate to do this in a personal message?

i agree...a mod left me visitor message which while not a warning was concerning a sensitive matter. i would have preferred NOT having message left in such a wayL

I wonder if that's how the infraction system works? The mod only fills in a description of whats wrong with the post, everything else including where the message is sent is automated.

I've had one warning for some stupid troll in the past, but I don't think other members can see this. I also received a pm about this from an admin. The problem with Visitor Messages is that other members can notice this, but I already pointed this out.

That we'll never ever use Visitor Messages to warn other members again. I have deleted those I could find, but if you see any I haven't deleted, then please PM me.

I was thinking that as well but as mods they should be able to solve that fairly quickly.

There was no warnings or anything before it was closed. If after sufficient warnings the trolling continued then I would have understood it being closed but I think it may have been done a bit tad premature here. Just take action on the trolling and it will all stop and the discussion moves on freely afterwards.

it did kind of come across as spam, actually... but Antoine Vayer is someone who's work i am interested in and respect.

i think it may have been a bit of the language barrier and such as it could have been phrased in a way that would have passed muster. pity, as it looks very interesting.
