But he didn't edit any of his posts, otherwise there would be a note about it on its post.

p.s. oh look at me editing my post

I'm not saying Netserk did or didn't edit anything as I don't know but you can edit a post and it not come up with the last edited line or some occasions, I don't know what the criteria is.

There is a window of opportunity of about two minutes where you can edit without leaving a stamp.
Now, let that thought-provoking exchange continue. We're nearly as the "did too", "did not" stage where it gets really exciting.

Correct - I have often corrected spellings or added something without flagging "edit" under the post.

However - if you have email notification one gets the original unedited post.
No idea what The Games problem is - it was Eshnar that quoted the original and correct unedited post.

Just want to give a *thumbs up* to the mod staff before the avalanche of new posters joining during the Tour, which happens every year.

This place would be unreadable without the mods, so thanks, again, to everyone doing it for free.

This is what happens when a delete-happy mod redacts the thread wholesale. This thread has more than 4000 posts. Once things get buried by a couple of pages of new posts, they are effectively gone, so what is the point of deleting stuff?

Sense of power, on a cycling forum which is pretty much the lesser sport of many others. World Domination! :D

"I delete, there for I am!" (some Mod's head inner voice)

Bickering - and troublemaking. If this thread were anywhere else, I have to believe most of the posts here would be gone gone gone.

MOST of the posts in this thread easily meet the qualification of "trolling from the dark side of the force", i.e. malicious intent - intent to start a fight - intent to smartass your way around the rules.

Think about it.

You sure can, but it is considered intent to smartass your way around the rules. Just like starting a post with 'Cry me a river' is intent to start a fight.

The point was, after posting, I immediately changed my post (during which time Eshnar quoted it), and i posted to that effect explaining that I had thought better of it. In the meantime, Netberserk went back and edited his post so it looked like he said it first, that was my point.

And on the original point, mass deleting a whole load of threads but leaving the moderators post up so it looked to all intents and purposes like I was being referred to as a spammer is my original gripe.
I see that you keep on distorting reality. The post that I 'edited' was this one. Eshnar's post with your quote was this one.

Now try to take a look and see when the two posts were posted

As much as it pains me to interrupt this thought-provoking exchange...

I have a question about Moderators.

How many mods are currently active, and who are they?

Lots of names from the past still swirl around. Some are still here, some not, some in retirement.

Stand up and be counted, please.

I agree we need to update the list of mods, a lot of people are still listed but have been inactive for a very long time. It would be good to know how many active mods there are right now. The inactive ones should be removed from the list

AFAIK you originally used a censored word in front of your non-censored one.
To your earlier post.

But seriously, stfu up already, the conversation is well over, but like a dog with a rag you just have to keep going, and I like a fool, get dragged back into it again.

And stop quoting things by members that they have deleted. If a member posts something, and decides, no, they don't want to continue the argument, and delete it, have the gumption to see that and delete your response. It's **** stirring of the highest order.

Seriously bud, you are a wind up merchant, you bait, and then you take it out on members with heavy handed moderation. Of course when I eventually lose my temper, I'm the one that gets the warning.

Hi Christian,

I've no problem with this as Mods come and go and there have been a lot of new ones in the last 6 months or so, myself included. But, not for me to post a list without asking the others but would be interested why you want to know. And to be honest I don't actually know how many of the inactive guys still have mod status.

Wow. A whole new level of stupid is unfolding.

STFU ALREADY!

Is there a mod in the house?

Edit
Not directed a ferryman's post above.
I was responding to the previous nonsense.

Okay, this IS directed at ferryman since it was I who raised the question initially.

First off, why in the hell would you have to check with "the others"?

This isn't national security. The forum has a list of mods but it is terribly outdated. So it should be public knowledge and straightening it out should be no big deal.

I can't speak for Christian, but why does it matter why anyone wants to know who the mods are? For me, I'm somewhat curious to know if guys like Alpe d'huez are still on board or not. I have other reasons too but those will have to wait until I'm not typing from a phone.

Another reason of mine is that with the somewhat obvious change in tone and tactics from some of the mods recently, I'd like to know what the balance of power is behind the scenes.

Also, it seems to me that Berzin may be the only currently active mod that has any clue as to what the forum was like a few years ago. Curious to know if that's the case.

Following which, doing a little zen exercise of ignoring what you regard as trolling. I know it's hard - I've gotten caught up myself more than once. But ultimately, it may be the wisest response.

Since we still have Alpe, ferminal, and Susan around - actively - I find your conclusion difficult to comprehend. They were here as mods "a few years ago". Matter of fact, they were here at the start. I've been around for, oh, 3 years or 4, I forget - but I must admit I paid almost no attention to the modding before I became one. I had no interest in much of that, as it seemed like a lot of pointless bickering. The only exception was when BoB was threatened with shutdown. Although - at this time, I might vote differently on that issue.

It does seem to me, doing research in back posts and mod comments, that previous generations of "mod squads" were somewhat stricter regarding infractions than we have been. That, combined with the minimal impact of getting some posters to heed warnings and suggestions, has caused me to put in less effort before simply deleting offending posts and issuing infractions.

Christ, this is becoming unnecessarily complicated.

Mine wasn't a "conclusion" it was a question. I hadn't noticed any mod action by Alpe or Ferminal as of late, although obviously they may be involved behind the scenes.

Can someone just answer my question then?

WHO ARE THE CURRENT MODS?
