So the café will be closed? :(

Only temporarily while they remove the cat thread. Can't have that.

Are y'all really that bored? An obvious troll got banned for finally going too far and you can't bring genocidal maniacs into a discussion about "moderators".

I think the world will continue to turn and the forum just might be a whole lot better for it, eh?

Listen folks. This is a cycling forum. How about we stick to that and leave the other stuff?
Fair enough there is no reason to mix cycling and that 'other stuff'. So... Gino Bartali, what a hero eh? Actually, lets skip that. So why is Paris Roubaix called the Hell of the Nor... Actually, lets skip that as well.

I never thought I would post in here (bans are bans, and back slapping them in my view is not necessary) but I have to ask - what are you guys smoking recently?

And I mean that in all jokingness (if that is a word) - seriously, I've laughed a lot by reading this and the other threads in this area.

Keep up the good work!

We should never mention the name of anyone who has done really bad things, here is a partial list:
Hitler
Tedd Bundy
Shimon Perez
Hassan Nasrallah
Ayatollah Khomeini
George Bush (probably both)
George Wallace
Nixon
Johnson
Chang Kai Shek
OJ Simpson
Mao Zedong

Any "freedom fighter" anywhere in the world who is someone else's "terrorist".
Anyone who has murdered someone for fun or profit.

The less we mention them the less able we will be to recognize the next ones who come along.

If a forum says don't mention a particular one then fair enough I suppose, let's all save a lot of time and make it against the rules to mention Contador, Armstrong, Froome, Wiggens, Landis, and Ullrich as well.

if you mention specific people there is the very real danger that an interesting conversation might result. that simply can't be allowed to happen on a forum.

Really? So relatively well thought out posts are erased just because they included the word .........Hitler......... Oh my ****ing god how could anyone use that word in any "polite" conversation? You guys are so ****ed up you don't even know which end is up.

It's a little more than that in this case.

lifes tough hoggy!

but again your narrative bears only scant nod to reality

imagine how busy i would be if i replied to only half of your excessive output

Just so you know, I'm not female. The constant attention you give me by following my posts won't end in a internet relationship.

So maybe do yourself a favour and desist from following me about?

Its flattering but after a while I began to find it odd and strange.

Perhaps give it a rest, yes?

Why was my on topic post about the café deleted? It was a direct question to the mods, and it didn't have anything to do with Hitler.

no

no! hoggy you're not funny at all

you must expect retort if you feel compelled to reply to my post

again the forum is not all about you even if you feel entitled to try to intimidate me into not pointing out the nonsense in your posts from time to time

To be clear, I'm not female, ok?

Because you appear to be making the forum about me. Feel free to contribute to threads of other peoples posts rather than just mine.

Many thanks.

I'm not female so that may change your interest in me.

Please leave me alone. Thanks.

Why do you stalk me?

I'm not female, ok?

I've reported you to the mods for your strange behaviors. I counted your posts in reply to me and sent it to them to demonstrate your obsession with me.

Leave me alone.

drama

and the drama continues.............I hope some members are amused by hoggy's obsessive behaviour

report me for replying to nonsense in their posts from time to time and answering posts here

can't get more ridiculous than that.............it's a Public Forum

It a public forum, yes but its doesn't make stalking acceptable. Often the perps don't even know they are doing it. Anyway I'll leave to the mods to deal with.

Hog and Ebandit, stop with the back and forth bickering.

As for posts on Hitler, a number of posts were deleted for being off topic. And I feel people are missing the point completely. A discussion on Hitler has absolutely nothing to do with this thread or most other parts of the forum. What is there to discuss anyway? How a picture with Cancellara blurry in the background makes it look like he has a Hitler mustache? Sorry, but such a discussion would be idiotic. We are in no way trying to stop discussions about certain people or not allow it. But if that discussion is pointless, off topic, offensive, or just plain stupid, we are perfectly in the right to stop the discussion on it.

How about this, if you have something to discuss on a person such as Hitler, then it must be done in the cafe. It can't be off topic, insult other members or be offensive to anyone in anyway, needs to be and intelligent conversation, and can't be something as stupid as making lame jokes and posting pictures of things that look like Hitler.

This whole thing arose from first a member being told to remove a signature that mocked another member, then that eventually lead to them insulting Susan (in a very offensive way both to her and German people in general I might add). My word of advice (it was exactly that, a word of advice, wasn't speaking from a mod point of view) to stop, was not about stopping all discussion on certain people from history. I believe if you read back through the posts before mine most will be able to tell what I was talking about stopping. And Susan's warning was in order to get people on topic and avoid pages and pages of Hitler pictures.

And that will be all I have to say on this matter. From here on out stick to the topic of the thread. I'm going to be keeping an eye on this thread and any more off topic posts will not be tolerated.

I don't think anyone suggested that (recently).

It also doesn't explain why my (other) post was deleted. It had nothing to do with Hitler, and it was an on topic question to a mod.

Your post asking if the cafe will be closed or the post asking if the look alike thread will get chopped? I wasn't the mod that deleted this posts, but I agree with the mod that did. These posts got deleted along with the other off topic stuff surrounding them.

Obviously we aren't going to go and close any current threads or sections of the forum.

So because the answer was obvious (to you) that makes the post off topic? Crap logic.

So in the future whenever someone ask a question to a mod in this thread, if the mod thinks the answer is obvious, then the post will be deleted without any answer. Great job.

Yes it's quite obvious which post of the two I was referring to. Does this mean I should delete your question and not answer it?
