I dont think the moderators should be above criticism. They could easily be replaced by other posters who could do a much better job. Im sure someone else would volunteer. Its not like they are curing cancer here.

The returning bots should get banned right away instead of being allowed to post for months. Its not hard to spot them, you can usually tell within a few posts. Sometimes its even easy to figure out who their previous account was. But hey, its more imporatant to ban the posters that actually contribute something to the clinic I guess.

well, im not complaining just for the sake of complaining.

I prefer one school of moderation. the opposite of what the current mods are doing. Just my opinion of course.

Modding in here is a thankless task. It requires a certain mindset that is not easy to apply. I wouldn't do it. I think lots who criticise Mods should consider becoming mods and see if they are up to the task. I know i am not.

CN needs the forum to get lots of hits for ad revenues to make it pay. Whether or not mods have been instructed to reduce bans or not so to keep hits high it part of the deal, i cant answer that. It can be a double edged sword as BroDeal pointed out, a large number or quality posters have gone elsewhere.

I disagree. Several of those who have wanted to become mods have turned out to be the kind of mods I (and I guess others) want to do it.
