Sadly, yes. Traffic is already way down. Eventually it will turn into a spambot wasteland. This is what happens when the forum is run by mods who get high on power and chase away the good contributors.

Yeah, I guess we'll just get left with humourless posters posting the same old same old everyday.

Actually it really isn't way down. It's about average what it would be and what would be expected heading into the off season. Concluding this from looking at the forums new post statistics that only admins are able to see.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but are you seriously saying that if the people that have stopped posting still posted here we wouldn't be seeing any spam problems? How are those two things even related?


For everyone's information, Dan's aware of the spam problem and is working on getting it fixed.

While some of you are getting ready to retire your bike for the winter (due to snow, or whatever kind of unfavorable conditions), some of us are getting our bikes ready for the never-ending rain season. (Afrank would understand this, seeing as he lives in Oregon. [As do I.]) Thus, no posting.

Another point I'd like to make - I realize I don't post much, but I'm quite the lurker. So, do not presume someone is automatically a sockpuppet just because they know this place and they feel like they know you just because they do not post, they may just be a lurker.

And on that note -- my two bikes need a bath and a good lubing, need to get them ready for the rain. So forgive me if I'm not able to post.

I wish I lived in Oregon. One of my favourite states on par with your northern neighbor Washingtoneers. Winter is my favourite time of the year to ride the bike, I usually don't ride much during the summer. Love the rain. Not to mention roads are much less crowded and I'm less likely to run into a Fred.

I see that I have missed a great lot of drama while I have been gone. Aw. Drama queens. Yup, I say drama queens. We do seem to have a culture in this forum that puts marking verbal points higher than validity, truthfullness, rationality, or just plain old good sense.

problem being Dan is aware of alot of things but he takes quite a bit of time to work on it.....forum wise....by the way is he aware that the world is flat as some says?

Did you notice among other things that someone or something has gotten loose on the forums and is Posting Korean BMW spam? I read where Dan is aware but from the looks of things these Korean's have the forums number (so to speak).

I read a little Korean and I can make out 'tailwind' and 'thanks for proving my point' being posted repeatedly.

Just out of curiousity; is the "Korean-bot" the same as the one that went in to the forum, and posted a Whole bunch of identical (at least I'm assuming they were identical) squieddely threads? Because as far as I remember that didn't look like the Korean being posted further up in the thread.

Might be, there's been a bunch of spam from users all in Asian areas. Don't know if their the same one behind each account, I just delete and perma-ban. It seems to have lessened greatly though, the work Dan and the CN's IT team has been doing is working.
